James shoves Sirius to turn him around. The back of Sirius’s hair is sodden, lank, oil-black in waves. Something like wistfulness bites through James’s guts, leaving him pink and aching. “Alright,” he says. “Last fucking chance.”
“Get on with it,” Sirius grits, so James says “Okay, fucking hell,” then shaves the first stripe off.
