What Meng Yao wouldn’t do to hear those words come from a different Sect Leader’s mouth. He used to dream of it as a boy, curled in the warmth of his mother’s embrace as she wove him tales of a life better than the one they carved out of the dusty brothel floor.
He wonders if this would be enough for her. If this is enough for himself.
