There’s a baby.
There’s a baby in Shen Qingqiu’s empty robes, occupying the space that Shen Qingqiu stated with great conviction was the most comfortable spot on this gigantic fucking bed, Binghe, move, and it looks as if it’s about to cry. It pauses its fussing to blink at him, huge, dark, impossibly familiar eyes framed by long wet lashes peeping up at him from a tiny round face. It observes him, shocked, in the same split second that it takes Luo Binghe to realize what exactly it is, then it scrunches its button nose, squeezes its eyes shut, and lets loose the loudest wail Luo Binghe has ever heard in his entire cursed life.
Luo Binghe will never admit that while the child screamed bloody murder, his first reaction was to flinch away so violently that he ended up with his back to the unforgiving stone floor. Why are you crying, I’m the one who wants to cry!

Rocky starts to relax for a split second, but then tightens when something occurs to him.
“Grace crewmates dead when you wake up. You said this, statement. You not even know your own name, remember nothing, see dead bodies, confirm?”
I nod, because if I open my mouth I will gag.
“When last time Grace touch ALIVE human person, question.”
I swallow thickly. I don’t answer aloud because I know Rocky can hear the hitch in my breath. My stomach churns with fresh bile. He senses my vital signs tick over into stress patterns and goes very, very still again.
“Grace. When last time, question.”
I clench my jaw so hard my temples ache, and beg him with my eyes to just stop.
“Grace. Please say not when… when Evil Stratt humans put you to sleep.”
I can taste grass.

Shen Qingqiu has top-tier skills when it comes to dodging wife-plots these days.
Now that he has married Binghe and discovered that he is, in fact, the wife, he can spot a wife plot from a hundred li away. Sorry, demons trying to poison or kidnap him, he won’t fall for any of your tricks!
That said, he does seem to get almost caught in them all the time, even if he does mostly manage to avoid them. It’s only a matter of time before someone gets caught in them–even if that someone isn’t him.

As much as Luo Binghe tends to function on a hair trigger, easily turned on by anything Shen Qingqiu does, he doesn’t find it naturally easy to be sexy or attractive, and it feels far too humiliating to try. That said, he’s willing to do his best to take advantage of his husband’s attraction to him in order to get what he wants.
Or: Binghe has been too busy to pay his husband any attention for far too long. Shen Qingqiu decides to take matters into his own hands.

Shen Yuan pouts, cheeks puffing out. How cute! Shang Qinghua can’t believe this is what turns into his prickly Cucumber-Bro. “My parents told me not to follow strangers anywhere.”
“We’re not strangers, we’re best bros,” Shang Qinghua says, putting his hand over his heart. “Plus, I’ll get you the best Godzilla shirt there ever was.”
Naturally, Shen Yuan does not get his Godzilla shirt. That was when Shang Qinghua learned that his best friend and greatest critic’s habit of whacking people on the head started from a young age. Ouch.
