For a moment, Mike’s too surprised to understand, but he relaxes into the embrace. It’s sweet and rare, and Mike’s learned to savor these, hoard them for later. He exhales more tension than he’d been aware of at the feel of Harvey’s cheek against his own, but still. A Christmas gift, just a taste, maybe enough to hold onto and then -
Harvey presses his lips to Mike’s temple, and Mike makes this raw, cramped sound into the front of Harvey’s peacoat. A warm hand comes up to cup the back of his head.
“Oh, kid,” Harvey says softly.
Mike sniffs hard and tries to anticipate whatever jab is coming next. “What’re you gonna do with me, huh?”
But Harvey just squeezes him a little tighter. “Idiot. That plan’s never changed. I'm gonna keep you.”

"And so, I'll ask again. Why are we choosing to go to Boston?"

Summary
It was Mike’s first birthday after Grammy died, but to the rest of the world, it was just another Christmas Day. Unfortunately, a big case got almost half of the associates and a few partners tasked with working on said holiday.
Mike was grateful for the distraction, letting his grief relax for a bit, but that only lasted until he figured nobody remembered it was his special day, not even Harvey (which means Donna didn't either).
Mike can’t remember a time he enjoyed a birthday alone.

He loved this part: watching Harvey rise, button his jacket, and take command of the room with nothing more than a look. It was ridiculous how hot it was, and Mike had to duck his head and pretend to be double-checking a brief just so no one noticed the grin tugging at his mouth.

His cheeks go hot under the intense gaze, more so when Arthur’s is added. He could practically hear those blue eyes swiveling back and forth between them. Composure. He needs composure. “Yes,” he clears his throat. “Merlin. Y- I am. I’m Merlin.” Some composure. “Um, please, allow me to show you your room, Your Highness.”

King Valamir is not all he seems. Coming from a land of magic, his view of Camelot is anything but positive and that makes any talk of a treaty between their kingdoms seem futile. Of course, the king seems to be only interested in Merlin, especially because he knows Merlin is Emrys and he sees it as his duty to whisk Merlin away from the evil place. All the attention he gives the warlock doesn't help Arthur, either, who's trying to confess a thing or two to his manservant.

Summary
After a night of working on the repeal of the magic ban, Arthur comforts Merlin who has been struggling with depression.
If it was hard to deny his feelings before, it was impossible to do so afterward. Every display of magic made him blush and feel rather silly. Merlin’s flowers and smiles that seemed to be made of sunshine had him acting like such a girl. It was also after the magic reveal that Merlin opened another side of himself to Arthur, a darker one. Something they had never really talked about before, but Arthur loved it just as he loved all sides of Merlin. It ended up as moments like this, curled up with one another, sharing tears and memories they wished to give away. These instances made one thing very clear: Merlin needed Arthur, and Arthur needed Merlin.
