Adora shakes her head even though Catra can’t see her. She ends up pushing the call button on her phone without really thinking about it.

“I know.” Every bone in her body wishes she could show Catra just what she thinks about the lingerie set. How she feels about her. “You look so soft.” She whispers.
She hears Catra let out a soft exhale before shakily breathing in. “Did you think about touching me?”
Adora doesn’t expect the direct question or the deep and vulnerable way Catra says it. She’s used to denying this part of herself, but Catra almost sounds hopeful and Adora can’t say anything other than the truth.

Catra purses her lip and plops her head to rest on her hand, looking out at the attractive woman. She makes a show of rubbing her eyes tired and then making a frown upset.
The other woman frowns in return, one of her hands tight on her harness and the other searching the bucket at her hip. She pulls out her brush and Catra turns back to her computer, trying to make sense of the few notes she’s been given access to, until she hears another knock at the window.

Catra quietly does as she's asked, wincing as she elevates her leg. Then she looks at Adora, unclear what will happen now. She has a plan but now it feels silly in the face of how clearly upset Adora is. She's not sure what else she expected.
"Catra, why are you here?" Adora's arms are crossed over her chest, and she looks anything but happy to see her.
Catra feels her gut drop to her toes under Adora's searching gaze. "Surprised to see me?"
Adora scoffs angrily. "Yeah, I don't expect my ex-girlfriend to just show up out of the blue in the middle of a snowstorm."
It's a good thing that Adora turns around in that moment because Catra has no idea what her face looks like.

Adora turns her tired eyes toward Catra, giving her a soft smile. "I know. I just wanted to finish this ledger."
Catra looks over her shoulder, no doubt noting all that's still left to do on that page alone. She gives Adora an unimpressed stare. She then leans forward, her lips grazing Adora's ear lobe and stealing all her attention and the breath in her lungs.
"I need you in bed with me." It's cajoling and a little contrived but damn if it doesn't work. It feels like the words I need you echo through her chest like a second heartbeat.
She'd been willing to stay up all night to get this done but in the face of Catra's persuasion, she's unable to resist. Adora stands up, putting her pen on the page as a marker and turning around.
Catra blinks up at her innocently, but she can't dislodge the triumphant smile on her face. She cups her cheeks, pressing their foreheads together before dropping a slow kiss on Catra's lips.
"You're bad for business." Adora gripes.
Catra rolls her eyes. "I can't be bad for business when I'm making sure you don't give yourself a heart attack by thirty-five."

Just as she is about to turn back towards the altar, where her fiance stands looking handsome and kind as ever, she sees a flash of gold and blue. A woman she’s never seen before, is making her way towards the back of the cathedral, her striking heterochromatic gaze catching Adora’s. Her freckles pop out against her bronze skin, and crinkles form near her honey amber and ocean blue eyes as she returns the soft smile Adora had been giving everyone.
The woman keeps moving, as does Adora, as she feels something so wholly unfamiliar course through her body. All she knows in this moment is that that was the most beautiful woman she has ever seen, and all she wants is a chance to say hello.

Her hands are rough as they quickly unbutton Adora's shirt, fingers nimble as she finds the problem quickly—a bullet hole in Adora's side. Adora hisses, biting her lip to avoid letting out a curse. She can see Catra's lips twitch into a smile as she pulls her shirt open.
It reminds her of other times, different times when Catra wasn't rough at all—when she slowly whispered kisses onto Adora's skin as she languidly stripped her. It's been a long time since Adora felt a touch like that.
Catra pokes her gloved hand into Adora's wound. "Fuck! Can you at least try not to make me bleed anymore?" She didn't want to say as much but she's feeling woozy from the blood loss.
"No. I need to get the bullet out or you'll be worse off." She grunts, digging into Adora's rib. Catra stops to shoot her a glare. "If you were smart, you wouldn't get shot."
"I tried that." She spits out. It’s not like she likes it when she gets shot. "This is plan B."
"It's a shit backup plan."
