Luke chews on his bottom lip while he waits for Din’s reply, staring at the blank television across the room before he stretches forward to grab the remote. He’s just a few minutes into a documentary about lions when his phone vibrates in his hand.
[1:52pm] Din: Yes, I’ll be there. Hopefully not too much longer.
Anakin’s out of town for a weekend business trip, so Luke invites Din over. The police may or may not get involved.

The woman running the ticket booth looks at Anakin in his borrowed sunglasses and slacked-jaw grin, his tongue sticking out between his teeth as he’s clearly barely standing on his own, to Luke’s bright smile, then down at Leia’s outstretched hand with a suspicious expression. “…uh, three?”
“Yes, unlimited wristbands, please,” Leia says, waving the card a little closer to the window.
The woman slowly reaches through the gap in the window to take it, asking, “You guys aren’t doing a Weekend at Bernie’s thing, are you?”
“Unfortunately, he’s very much alive,” Leia drawls.
Luke shifts to loop his arm around his father’s ribs, hoisting him up a little bit so he isn’t so - dead-looking, he supposes. Maybe the sunglasses weren’t such a good idea after all. “He’s just-”
“I don’t want to be here so I’m extremely fucking stoned,” Anakin chimes in.
“Mood,” the woman sighs with a knowing nod and sympathetic purse of her lips, turning to swipe Anakin’s card.

Summary
Some may think it odd that a flower shop could be run by a Jedi - Luke disagrees.
“Luke,” Luke blurts, all semblance of calm he had been working to maintain gone. He fumbles to tuck some of his hair behind his ear as a distraction before he tries again. “My name is Luke.”
Luke doesn’t tell him he’s the only one that runs the shop with his droid. There’s no need to ask for him, ever, but Luke wants him to.
The Mandalorian nods again. “Thank you.” Then, almost a forced afterthought: “Luke.” After, he’s gone, the bell tinkling over the door and sunlight shining off the polished armor as he steps out.
Luke leans over the counter, stretching to catch a glimpse of the man again before the crowds of Galactic City swallow him from sight.

Grogu shakes his head and buries his face against Din’s throat. He takes a deep breath, his arms tight around Din’s neck. Din furrows his brows and runs his fingers through his son’s damp hair. “Hey, talk to me. What’s wrong?”
Grogu leans back and stares into Din’s eyes, searching, and Din feels his heart skip a beat. “Grogu?”
He lets go of Din’s neck to sign, Is Daddy okay?
Din opens his mouth then closes it, confused. “I - yeah, Grogu, Daddy’s okay. Are you okay?”
Grogu searches his face again, and when his eyes immediately fill with tears, Din feels something too close to panic seize his chest. “Grogu? Tadpole, what’s wrong?”
