Summary
5 years, 8 months, and 15 days, and it was just one fat lie. Everything came back to what she thought were hers, to what she thought she’d worked hard to gain back. 'The telephone', she cried out to Marina into the echo of the empty replicant city. 'Why did I think he would’ve actually given me My memories?' She wailed. How could she be so dumb.
Hachi Ida, prisoner of three different hells, and runaway of two, lived her life on the surface in a beautiful fantasy. She tore every memory she could out of the metros that had taken them from her, and she grew satisfied with the remnants of her life she'd earned back. But her world shatters when she enters the simulation. When she reads a simple excerpt from Marina's log.
They were never hers. They were never hers. What is left? What is left?

Summary
As the days since she lost everything tick by, Eight becomes more and more desperate to connect with her former self. Day after day after day, she finds herself staring, eyes blurry from tears, into a small cardboard box containing her mem cakes - what was once her whole life - trying to feel something, waiting for something to suddenly click. She rereads the poems she wrote in the metro, too, and writes even more, to the point her once tidy room is covered in sticky notes containing vague descriptions of the only things she can salvage of what was once her life. A physical manifestation of her grief lines her bedroom walls, a constant reminder of what she doesn't, and most likely will never, have.
In which Eight is not at all happy about the whole amnesia thing.

Summary
“So, you're supposed to be different? How come?”
Agent Three didn’t think about the question for a second before he let out a single laugh. “I thought we were trying to figure out your past, Eight.”
“Not much to talk about, I can’t remember most of it.” Eight grimaced. “Where I’m from, the people I know- I can’t recall much of anything. I can’t even remember my own name.”
This time, Agent Three froze. His left eye glanced down at the ground, and his cheeks flushed red. Eight tilted her head to the side, confused at this sudden display.
“Oh.” He said, with the same tone one would say if they had left a stove on at home.
“Oh?”
Agent Three looked at her, his eyebrows furrowed. “I know your name. And you know mine. We told each other about it 2 years ago in the Octo Valley, after my fight with the Octobot King.”
Agent Eight’s first time in Inkopolis turns intense when she realizes that Agent Three has more keys to her past than she thought. She grapples with whether or not she wants to remember the past she left behind, and if her and Agent Three should have connected at all.

Summary
“What do you like?”
The octarian soldier style is a lot of shiny, tight greys and blacks, with accents of purple and red, but how much of that was an agreed-upon choice and not just Octavio’s…tastes is questionable. She wonders what the civilian aesthetic is when they’re out of his grip.
There’s a long stretch of quiet (or, rather, as quiet as it could be in Jelly Fresh with the Squid Sisters shouting in her ears), as the question seems to stump her entirely. Her head tilts the way it does when she’s in deep thought, and she’s fidgeting in place. Something apologetic rises up on her face as she straightens herself out.
Finally, she ekes out an, “I don’t know.”
Internally, she’s stunned. Are the other soldiers like this when they’re left to their own devices?
Today is Eight's first big day on the surface.

Summary
It was all over. She fought for herself, those who had perished at the hands of Commander TarTar, and all that had dared to follow her to the “Promise Land".
Eight had finally seen the surface she had yearned for and was ready to start a new life.
But, despite everything she had gone through with all who have been kind enough to help her… a certain Inkling that she so desperately wanted to interact with was giving her mixed signals.
Or rather:
A story that takes place after the Octo Expansion where Pearl and Marina take Agent Eight in and she does her best to connect with Agent Three. Agent Three also learns to accept help from others, especially concerning her new sanitization injuries.

Summary
She was…on the surface. This was real sunlight radiating from the real sky. No dome projector could match this strength no matter how many zapfish they rigged to it. No lost pigeon could sing these songs.
Her mind flashed to the squid in the weird safety vest outfit. She did this…she must’ve…brought me…here…instead of…
Her hearts wrenched all at once, and pent-up tears spilled down her cheeks, finally released. She didn’t know what to think or feel. The squid clearly saw she was hurting, and did the best thing she could (but they were enemies, she had no reason to help her, she had every reason not to). She spent some of her precious zapfish-stealing time just to bring her to safety…No. She made a mistake. Being on the surface meant nothing good. And most of all…she’d never be able to see her mothers again.
There was no recourse for her if she was left in that kettle, she knew, but was there any recourse for an octopus in the world of squids?
Eight’s first few days on the surface after being broken out of her octoweapon.

Summary
Former Agent 8 of the Newsquidbeak Splatoon finds herself in Splatville, having moved there after the Order Incident in Inkopolis Square. She's finally adjusting to a more peaceful lifestyle, as peaceful as one can be in a society that monetizes war, and can finally use the name she gave herself while traveling with Pearl and Marina. She's glad to, the label "agent" reminds her of the trouble she's gotten into before and after she was bestowed the title. But of course, she can not avoid trouble, it has a habit of finding her, and this time it's followed her from her old work and into new life. She doesn't fully remember the past, but she'll have to remember it if she wants her future to be as peaceful as she wants.

Summary
Marina cleared her throat, looking at Pearl, who nodded. “So, we’ve been thinking about this for a while,” she said, choosing each word with care.
“You’re grown up now, sugar. You have Captain now, and you spend a lot of time together. We’re so happy for you…” Her voice trailed off as if she were searching for the right words. Aubrey’s heart began to race. It was subtle at first, just a quiet dread pooling in the back of their throat. They knew Pearl and Marina meant well, they always had. But something about this felt off.
“We were thinking,” Pearl continued, leaning toward them slightly, “that maybe it’s time for us to bring someone else into the family. We… we’re ready to have another child.
_________________________________________________________Marina and pearl want to expand their family, they want to have another baby.
But how will 8 react to it? Will they feel replaced by the new addition or will they learn to embrace and love the baby?

Something I wrote for Whumptober that spiraled wayyy out of control. Also kinda practice for using they/them pronouns for different characters at once.
