Connor found himself on the run after he marched a warehouse full of androids to freedom and saved the remnants of Jericho from being gunned down.
Public opinion is so vital to the android's survival, and yet it is a very fickle thing indeed.
He hadn't considered what life might be like after he succeeded but he never would have pictured what did follow. Freeing the androids wasn't something he could ever regret but being labeled a terrorist by the FBI and hiding from the promise of deactivation was less than pleasant. It only grew worse once he was caught.

He’s been drowning in this hollow, unrelenting suffocation for twenty-six fucking hours. And now here Connor is, standing on his doorstep like nothing happened, like he didn’t just fucking disappear, like Hank hasn’t been absolutely tearing himself apart wondering if he’s dead, destroyed or just some soulless fucking husk, rebooted for the next mission, for the next bastard who has to deal with him.

Hank sighed, running a hand over his face as he unlocked the car door. It had been a long day. Just one long day in a series of long fucking days that never seemed to stop coming but seemed even longer now that androids were apparently glitching out and attacking their owners. Christ, androids walking off the job and claiming sentience? What was the world coming to? Why the hell Jeff had to drag him into this, he had no fucking clue.
He was looking forward to unwinding with a stiff drink or five at Jimmy’s Bar.
The sound of sniffling pulled him from his reverie, and Hank turned in search of the source of the sound. After a moment, his eyes honed in on the form of a small child curled up against a chain link fence. Hank blinked, suddenly unsure if he could trust what he was seeing.
