Your fingers had been blue and black, cold as stone, and unfeeling. Your lips were blue, and your hair flecked white with snow. Your heart was heavy in your chest, skipping two, three beats at a time. Gabe may have pulled your body from the snow, but your mind had long since been gone.
As the power dynamics shift between Overwatch and its darker sibling, Blackwatch, you find yourself slipping away from who you had been before Akureyri. With your grip on control and reality loosening, you’d eventually have no other option than to let go.

IMO genuinely the best fanfic out there, originally read this early 2024, and haven't stopped thinking about it since (its november 2024)
Beautifully well written, characters feel 3d and alive and even the smut is done extremely well. It does run quite long however I only wish it were longer

Overwatch 2Reader x ???. Reader was a regular person with a terminal illness that was getting worse and worse. Readers mother decided to do an experimental treatment which turned out to be a farse. For decades, in a sleep state, reader was experimented on. Something called an AFA (a crazy generous device) was planted into their chest in place of their heart, and the only reason they survive today. Reader is saved and TLDR they are taken to Overwatch to be studied and cared for.
Interesting fic where story continues in different directions- the writer is creating different storylines with different relationships.
