Walking away from Finn's hospital room was one of the hardest things Sean had ever had to do. Everything since that day just got worse- and for over a year, Sean was completely and utterly alone. In a new country, living in his dad's old sea-side home- life felt empty, devoid of purpose. He wasn't sure anyone was thinking of him at all- leaving him utterly shocked by a birthday surprise.

Daniel starts out right where Sean started in the game but it’s where he goes that changes the most. The ages are a little different as well, Daniel is 17 and Sean is 12. This fan fiction follows the story of the game but will have some major changes as well.

This is purely for fantasy and is a story involving two brothers who love each other very much and how their relationship develops after being apart for a number of years; eight to be exact. It is set after the end of the narrative game. Both brothers are adults.
This is based on the (Parting Ways) ending where, after Daniel helps Sean breakthrough the checkpoint, he jumps out of the car. He is raised by his Grandparents, Claire and Stephen. I felt that this ending provided the most potential. Their separation was necessary for Daniel to grow up. Sean also does not go to prison and become a broken man.
The part about Daniel growing up was important for me. Yes, this work involves incest between two brothers but I wanted very much to make it so that there was no power imbalance (Daniel’s powers aside) or coercion. Daniel is a consenting adult and not a ten year old boy. He is capable of making his own decisions.
The bond between these brothers is an unbreakable one, given what they’ve been through. Daniel idolizes Sean. Sean has sacrificed everything for Daniel. This work is the exploration of those feelings and how they could develop.
