Summary
The Battle of Hogwarts fucked up a lot of people, most finding the worst ways to cope due to their pain being masked by the press. Kitrina saw many people she cared for take to habits she never wished upon, even her enemies. If only she had been able to escape the dungeons sooner that night, she could have been an extra wand, an extra hand, an extra body. Maybe she could have taken Fred's place, wishful thinking as it was. Yet, if she took his place, then she would not be facing George right now, drunk off his ass across the way from the bar. If she had taken Fred's place, this drunken night would not have led to a problem she had to keep to herself.
George needed something to cling to, something to stop him from drowning. If it so happened to be a Pureblood witch that he couldn't really stand, but at least didn't hate, then so be it. Finding solace for just one night, even if he couldn't remember it; even if he was glad when he woke up to no memory and an empty bed, he at least had a moment of peace. Now, however, drink isn't helping, and two years later, sober and calming down from his depression, he runs into a problem that he never thought he'd face ever.

"Why does Dream hate me?"
Sapnap had stared at him for at least ten seconds straight. With eyebrows furrowed, completely lost, he waited for more information to be thrown, for George to scale back his dramatization, anything, because Sapnap knows that Dream does not hate George and he expects George to know that too. But George doesn't give anything else, just sits on the end of Sapnap's bed and waits for him to speak. "What are you talking about?"
"Like—" George sighs, almost a scoff, and looks at his fingers. He picks at the loose skin around his nails until he gathers the strength to say what he wants to say. "He doesn't even— he's so touchy with everybody else. Why isn't he like that with me?"
Or, George moves to Florida and doesn't understand why Dream doesn't continue the same dynamic they had before the meet up, or why he isn't as touchy with George as the brunet had hoped.

Summary
“M’ tired.” Dream mumbles pitifully, walking towards the center room. George turns and catches sight of Sapnap relaxed on the couch for only a second before Dream flops down onto him, his head face planted against Sapnap’s chest. The man grumbles with annoyance, but his eyes remain shut, one arm thrown over his face to block the light. His other hand makes no hesitation to worm its way onto Dream’s back, George watches him rub soothingly, scratching and tracing random lines.
“Tha’s nice pandas.” Dream hums, acknowledging the soft touch and nuzzling into Sapnap’s chest even more, if possible.
George gulps down the last sip of water, suddenly feeling as though he’s interrupting something he shouldn’t, again. His headache has definitely eased up by now, enough to know their affection isn’t some ethanol infused desire.
When George moves to Florida, Sapnap and Dream act much less platonic than he thought they would, and he wants in.

He felt Dream’s intense gaze flicker up and down his body, hovering on the spots he had previously come in contact with; his left shoulder, center of his chest, right foot, tip of his pointer finger. The color, same as those eyes, that George now knew painted the skin beneath his clothes, stung all over again. With a sickening permanence that made George want to hurl.
“George–”
“I think you should go,” George cut him off, steeling himself and standing up straight.
“George–”
“I said go, Dream,” George’s voice rose, he didn’t want it to, but it did. He spares a look to Dream as the blond stands up too. He looks hurt. George tries not to think about it.

Once, he would’ve thought that the blaze would burn him if he kindled it, if he took a chance at letting it blaze. In those times, he would do all that he could to douse it when it sparked, and run miles in the opposite direction to avoid it scolding if he happened to let himself stand too close to his best friend.
He knew better now.
That much was evident by the way he was sat in a tiny booth in a pub in the middle of London– George pressed easily to his side and the air filled with his obnoxiously loud laughter. The room swayed in a drunken haze, and Dream was almost swept away by the way it all felt so surreal. His lips quirked up as he snuck his hand to the other’s thigh, squeezing it under the table.
Dnf travel to London to celebrate George's birthday. They're drunk in love.

Summary
The stability that George provided himself earlier ensures their fall isn't quite the same as before. Somehow, Sapnap’s chin lands just beneath George's, whose eyes are drooped and flooded with something unexplainable Sapnap feels a tug on his chest suddenly suffocate in. A shaky exhale releases from the Brits lips at the close proximity of their faces, and lips, to be more precise to George’s own thoughts.
“Sapnap…” George whispers delicately, barely even there. So much so that Sapnap thinks he might not have said anything at all.
The four times George and Sapnap almost kiss, and the one time they do.

All of them were unfamiliar, all except one. Green eyes linger on a head of dark brown hair with a bright smile he realizes is the same one he quietly admires from afar every Tuesday and Thursday during his 11:50 am coding class. He’s clearly intoxicated already, a slight stumble in his stride and a pink tint high on his cheeks visible even in the animated light of the club.
