Summary

Hannibal gave up everything, including his freedom, for Will. And in return, he got married and moved on, leaving Hannibal to rot in prison. Now that the Red Dragon has been defeated, it's Will's turn to prove his love and undying devotion to Hannibal. But of course, Hannibal isn't so easily appeased.

This story follows Will and Hannibal's journey towards a genuine and nurturing relationship though exploring mutually caused hurt, doubts about loyalty and love, and working though heartbreak and trauma together.
If anyone is curious about the chapter titles, I named them after the 7 stages of grief, since it seems to be the overarching theme here!

Hannibal is gone. He won't answer his phone, the car's nowhere to be found, he didn't leave a note, or take anything. Even the dogs don't know where he's gone. Will, overcome with worry and confusion, tries to chill with his pack of strays for the day, to no avail. He suspects Hannibal is up to no good. He'd be right in suspecting that.
Basically, loads of wonderful dogs and domestic bliss that goes to murder and filth.

All this killing and eating people - that's what cannibals do, after all. But what got me really mad at Hannibal was how he manipulated Will in such an evil way - and still thought they could be friends like that. So I planted just a little doubt in his mind at the end of "Fromage", and now the story takes quite a different turn...

"You're tolerance for alcohol is becoming more impressive, Will."
Will promptly took the pillow from his face and threw it in Hannibal's direction, missing him entirely and almost smashing one of the various expensive vases hanging around, "My tolerance for you is being tested right about now."
They get slightly too drunk in the middle of the afternoon and end up slow dancing in the lounge, clumsy and giggling.

Summary
Will’s emotions are out of control. He both hates and loves Hannibal, but he can’t seem to settle on which emotion he truly feels. He thought throwing them both off a cliff would be the end of the torment, but, of course, it was only the beginning. He didn’t account for Hannibal’s willingness to fight for both himself and Will after consummating their relationship with the death of Francis Dolarhyde. Now Will must come to terms with his new life on the run with the man who changed his life so drastically or seek a way out, a way out that could kill this man: Someone who means so much to Will even through the past betrayal.
Narrative focused on Hannibal and Will’s relationship before and (mostly) after the Fall, as well as details on how Will begins to recognize his deeper feelings for Hannibal, but struggles over how his present feelings coincide with past hurt and mistrust pre-Fall.
He eventually accepts his new life with Hannibal.
Murder Husband plot with relationship, sexuality, and identity issues and flashbacks to their relationship pre-Fall with added material to the original plot. Fluff, angst, canon-esque plot, sex, and Cuba.
Also -- expect a happy ending :)
