The family fracas was, of course, the small matter of Athair attempting to murder Uncle Fingolfin, in his own home, with one of his ceremonial dueling pistols, a scant few weeks before. There had been some dispute on the subject—mainly from Curufin, and always out of the grownups’ hearing—as to whether the pistol had been loaded.
“It was,” Maedhros had said finally, and the matter was dropped.

Summary
Fëanor did not know how to explain the ill-defined uneasiness and the almost instinctual dislike he felt, how impossible it was to reconcile the impression he had gotten from the tapestry in Mandos to the reality of Daeron in person, in life. “He seems careless,” he said, because he did not know how else to explain.
“That is certainly not true,” said Nerdanel, “though I know well that I cannot expect you to take my word for it. It is long since you placed any trust in anyone’s judgment aside from your own, flawed though it is.”
Midwinter is meant to be a time of feasting and merriment, but Fëanor does not find it so, especially with Daeron of Doriath in attendance.

He felt he could become accustomed to the dark-beamed room he was sharing with Maedhros and Maglor, or to the boisterous family dinners, or to the country church sheltering God Himself like a clapboard tabernacle in which a smaller, gleaming tabernacle was set… but not to all three at once!

Rebirth doesn't mean recovery for Tyelperinquar. After leaving Mandos, he pays a visit to Aule, hoping to find someone who might empathize with his pain. He's given a necklace - a necklace that holds the last vestiges of Sauron's soul. Overwhelmed and drowning in grief, he leaves to the abandoned northern forests of Aman, seeking shelter in solitude.
Unfortunately, no one can outrun their problems for long. After an incident with a few too many spiders, Sauron's soul escapes its confines and takes an unusual shape - that of a slightly feral amnesiac elfling.
__In which Tyelpe must decide what to do with his ex-turned-elfling.
