Hojo tilted his head fondly wearing a vile grin.

Hojo injects Cloud’s neck with something cold and stinging. He tries to yell, but his hearing turns to static and his vision goes dark.

Hojo once again finds himself with the opportunity to avoid his death, this time having been returned to his body at Shinra Manor in Nibelheim early on in the Jenova project. With the knowledge of future events, he begins to plan on how to keep control of his perfect creation, and eliminate the variables leading to his death. Both problems might be solved by Hojo manufacturing a family that Sephiroth so desperately craved.

Summary
One day, Ami's life changed. She found herself torn from her world and landed in a familiar world. When she is informed of her future as Hojo's newest lab rat, she picks a fight she knows she would never win. A fight which caught everyone's attention and has altered Shinra's plans for her. When she finds out that her SOLDIER mentor is someone she definitely is a fangirl of, will she be able to remain sane while also dealing with being trained by him? Will she manage to cope being the first official female SOLDIER? But more pressing - how will she use her knowledge of potential future events? Will she save her mentor from a monstrous fate or allow things to play out?
To complicate matters further, there's a mysterious shadow looming - one that looks like her mentor but isn't.
Notes: This is a re-write of a story I last worked on 11 years ago. Things have changed and the plot is vaguely different. There are some obscenities, but all F-bombs are censored.
Update: Sephiroth has to face a question that deserves an answer - is it worth it to seek a compromise?

Summary
Sephiroth finally manages to escape JENOVA's control after one of his many deaths at the hands of Cloud Strife. Determined to make things right he tries to swim further into the life-stream so that JENOVA can't revive him. The Planet has different ideas.
Now once again ten years old, Sephiroth is determined to take down JENOVA and all the corruption in SHINRA before everything that went wrong in the last timeline occurs. Unfortunately he is short, young, and alone. In order to get access to SHINRA's files and still escape Hojo's clutches young Sephiroth makes an alliance with a female Turk who agrees to help him take out JENOVA when he tell's her its a world ending weapon. Now with access to SHINRA and the chance to breathe Sephiroth begins to make more plans. He is determined to save Angeal and Genesis this time around, and he intends to train Cloud so that he has a back up plan in case JENOVA takes control of him again.
Pragmatic and self-sacrificing to a fault, Sephiroth finds himself unable to avoid the found family, or his friends despite his best efforts to the contrary. Will he be able to defeat JENOVA, save his friends, and the world, or will he fail...again...
