He knows it's not some kind of cosmic reward for getting through a rough past, living through Catherine's addictions, his dad up and disappearing, or any of the other shit he's had to put up with.
You get dealt your hand in life, for better or —more likley— worse, and try to make the best of it.
Then Dick Grayson steps in.

If you asked Jason how he felt about Tim’s soulmate he would say he hated the bastard. If he was being honest he didn’t know much about the guy at all, no one did not really. But Jason didn’t need to know who he was to hate his guts. If the guy ever got his head out of his ass and finally realized that Tim was very much a wonderful person to be around, Jason was sure that the first thing he’d do upon finding out his identity would be to sock him in the face.
AKA Jason and Tim are soulmates in a world where when you realize your in love with your soulmate your timer goes off. Tim realizes first, Jason falls harder.

He lets himself fall onto his well-worn suede couch, rubbing away the sting behind his eyes.
He focuses on his breathing, willing himself to calm down.
It really shouldn’t bother him so much. He should be used to it by now.
Still, it hurt.
“Well, I don't like seeing you so down.”
Jason springs up from the couch as if electrocuted. His eyes snap open and make contact with the man idly stirring a teaspoon through one of Jason’s mugs, staring back with a look of detached interest.
Jason deflates.
“What are you doing here?” he asks, walking over to turn off his coffee maker and fix whatever Grant pulled out of place.
“Just passing by. I figured I’d make a stop into your God forsaken city to see my favorite little trouble maker,” Grant says, his words dragging with the twinge of Southern drawl in what Jason could only describe as a purr.
Or: Jason dealing with his difficult family is not his first nor last rodeo. Good thing he has Grant to put up with him—at least, for as long as Jason can keep him latched.

“Is he though?” Jason muttered. “Why’s he even bringin’ me along anyway? I’m jus’ an incubus. Not like I’m gonna be inheritin’ his position anytime soon. I’m only technically a prince, not a real one.” Privately, he didn’t dare say it aloud to Dick ‘snuggles’ Grayson, he thought that the only reason he was technically a prince was because of Bruce taking pity on him.
“Don’t let Crane hear you talking like that.” Dick said dryly as he smoothed Jason’s hair down. After a moment, he added, “Crane’s the Incubus representative. You should probably avoid him.”
