"Oh, that's J. We kind of just keep her around?" N explained, noticing her line of sight.
It was hard to tell past the yellow acid surrounding it and grayish spit coughed down its front, but Uzi was pretty sure that was a murder drone chained to the pod's wall. It was lying on the floor, steaming slightly from the puddle of its acid, but its visor was glitching so badly Uzi wasn't even sure it was aware.

A nearby human remnant fleet has detected the anomalies in Copper-9's terraforming project and are determined to investigate it, will they be able to co-exist with the Worker Drones and mend old scars from years past, or will the conflict between man and machine rage on in a never-ending total war?

Uzi, exploring the forest surrounding her town, finds the golden retriever on the brink of death. She decides to save him and take him in, but unknown to her, he was more than a helpless dog.

N has the ability to transform into a dog and Uzi takes him in as her pet, being none the wiser. N doesn't know how to reveal to her that he isn't just a dog, but a human guy.

Taking place right around the time of the pilot episode of the series. Only instead of encountering N, Uzi encounters a disassembly drone that is far... stranger than she could have imagined.
Meanwhile, a disassembly drone with an unusual level of resentment towards his own kind, and an even odder affinity for the very things he is supposed to be hunting, desperately searches for more 'friends' to bring home to his Master. And that is far from the strangest thing about him...
I have plans to make this a longer story and get the other MD characters and OCs I made involved in future chapters. If I get the motivation to do so, I'll expand on this one shot further. This is my first MD fic, too, so hope you enjoy!

Copper-9's core collapse was the catalyst for a new era. JcJenson (in spaaaaaaace) witnessed some of their interstellar colonies begin to turn against them and watched as their Disassembly drones failed to halt the rebellions. In retaliation, the company turned to one of their secret projects, Project EX. The project had produced the most advanced Drone class ever. This new class of drone was designed to do one thing, which was to Exterminate the rebels, whether they be Drone or human. The Exterminator drones proved effective in dealing with the rebels, but something had been brewing behind the scenes... something JcJenson wasn't prepared for. In a blind scramble to prevent a tragedy, JcJenson sends three Disassembly Drones to Copper-9, but only after scrambling their memories. After a few years, an Exterminator also arrived on Copper-9, claiming he had been sent to aid the Disassembly Drones. Years later, a young worker unknowingly kicks off a series of events that will not only reveal the dark past, but also shape the future. What secrets are locked within the scrambled memories of the disassemblers? What is the Absolute Solver and where did it come from? Where does this Exterminator fit into this? Gotta read to find out!
