Sirens echoed throughout the valley, warning everyone to take shelter, but still Orym climbed so he could see what lay in the fog covered valley of his home. The clouds above swirled, and Orym caught a glimpse of a long tail and sharp claws.
A thunderous roar broke the sky, and a beast dove.
Two wings, two legs.
A wyvern.
"Good luck." Orym whispered, and he watched the first of the harpoons fire.
Zephrah thrived of the slaying of dragons.

Orym snaps back awake, his jaw clenched so hard against a scream that it aches, tears streaming down his face. He rolls onto his back, staring up at the stars, turned honey colored by the amber light of the dome.
This feels too much like the endless months after Will and Derrig had died. The broken sleep. The nightmares. The panic upon waking, made worse by reaching out for someone who was no longer there, that would never be there again. Only time and the love and support of those around him had brought gradual, eventual relief. But they don’t have time. Everything is happening so fast.
“Please.” Orym doesn’t know who he’s directing his plea to. The gods? The spirits of those he has lost? The stars themselves? “Please, I just need to sleep.”
“Orym?” Dorian’s voice, barely a whisper. “Are you all right?”

Orym of the Air Ashari has spent the past six years falling into a routine of duty and family after an unexplained tragedy struck Zephrah. It is a numb but comfortable existence, as the Exandria somehow keeps spinning.

“You’re having fun?” Leeta asks.
Orym rolls his eyes. Six years later and they still dote on him. He’s lucky, he reminds himself. “Yes. Good drink, good music… Questionable company aside, I’m having fun.”
“Plus the good view.” Baernie adds, motioning her mug back towards the bard, now onto another jaunty tune, but this time in a language Orym doesn’t understand. It’s all smooth vowels and soft consonants, rushing into his ear like the very wind itself. He’s already staring by the time Baernie’s words register, and he quickly brings up his mug for another long draw, hoping the tall folk sized drinking vessel covers up any hint of heat he can feel rising to his cheeks. It is a good view. He hadn’t even realized that was something he could still notice.

BREAKING NEWS: Silken Squall to end trade agreement with Tal’Dorei
Today the Wyvernwind family has officially announced the Silken Squall’s withdrawal from Tal’Dorei, citing a breakdown in communication over their trade agreement. The embassy in Emon will be closing its doors officially on the 1st of Horisal. While there are concerns amongst air genasi citizens of the Squall living in Tal’Dorei, the Wyvernwind family has declined to comment on the subject past promising safe passage back to the Squall for all its citizens.In order to keep Dorian from being deported, Orym proposes they get married. Because that always works, right?

Dorian hadn't thought much about what he should expect when he returned to Zephrah after things finally settled down. Being introduced to people he already knew, but in a different context now, gave him some unexpected mixed feelings. So many people were happy for Orym because they knew what he had been through in losing Will. Dorian felt the pressure to fill a Will-shaped hole in not just Orym's life, but also in the lives of those close to him. And that was absolutely not something he wanted to do. He had no intention of trying to take Will's place. That place in Orym's heart and life belonged only to Will. Dorian liked to think he had a place pretty damn close to Will's, but it was his own place. He had nothing but respect for the love Orym still held for Will.

Five years has passed after they came back from the moon and Zeru calls for Dorian and Orym to go to the Squall. They need help of the Air Ashari urgently, because the Squall has lost direction and they are worried they may crush. Dorian is not doing well, because his family still doesn’t want to acknowledge Orym as his partner and it’s a year since the “other Cyrus incident” nobody wants to talk about.
