As part of his punishment Loki is stripped of his magic, voice, and sent to Earth to 'reform.' Which, naturally, means he ends up back at Stark Tower. Tony is less than thrilled, especially when his thoughts start to stray more and more towards the fallen god, and he starts noticing small things that are off about Loki. Had his eyes always been green?

The decision, the freedom, the execution and the truth.
Four things were needed for that split second in time, for that one decision that sent him trudging through the very fabric of time, wading through the temporal energy with all his power. It had taken him years, centuries, millennia, even. The culmination of efforts, of resolve, of conviction he never thought he would have.
To sit upon that gilded, cracked and broken throne. The very threads and delicate weaves of time trailing behind him, pulsating with green, with the colour of life. Decisions that came too heavy, choices that were not half as fair as they should have been. To be the sole driving force behind existence itself bore a heavy burden. A fitting one. A glorious one.
It wasn’t easy, he had deliberated for far longer than he had prepared. It felt like aeons, trapped within the cracks of time as he put everything off for longer and longer.
And within these pockets of relief, some were to visit a few interesting fellows on the timeline. It did not sound half bad, not to Loki. Not when they were faced with similar grievances, with insight far greater and far more profound than the god could have ever imagined.

The worst thing about suddenly breaking mind control is that it leaves you absolutely stunned for some time, without the ability to think clearly.
Loki learns it the hard way in Stuttgart, when he gets hit on the head during the fight and breaks free of the mind link with Thanos and the Other.
Suddenly, he’s on his own, totally alone and surrounded by enemies. And he realises that - for the first time in his life - he has no plan whatsoever and is unable to even think of one.
So he does the only possible thing - he acts on instinct to get out of the situation and buy himself more time. And if the side effect is getting stuck with the most annoying and absurdly talkative Midgardian so-called superhero, well… that’s something he can handle without any problems, right? 😉
