Summary
Anders, the rebel mage, sets the world on fire and lives to see the consequences. As more lives are lost and justice quiets, freedom starts to bind like a curse, and when a chance for personal atonement opens, facing the ultimate judgment begins to seem a worthy end.
Cullen, the loyal templar, fights for the cause he’s sworn and dedicated himself to, until it crumbles beneath him. Then, a possibility to fight for something indisputably right emerges in the form of a threat to all of Thedas, and he grasps it with both hands, holding on even when his hands bleed.
Dire consequences force a rescue mission, but in the mountains and valleys that offer new lives and even absolution, parallel pasts beg questions long avoided and kindle embers of hope long thought dust. Who deserves understanding, and what shall be done when the heart is a traitor and extends it regardless of the answer?
