This branch of science is still so young and we don’t have much of an idea of the wider effects. We don’t know what – for example – your presence might trigger.” Ah. Not merely two women on the night shift, Jessie was leveraging her murky heritage’s connection back to the Lifestream. Remarkable Jessie had never contemplated such a test before.
“So you want me plus our massively successful team member to take the night shift?”
Jessie grinned at her. “Exactly. Not tonight obviously because you’ll be dead on your feet. But tomorrow I think. So Zack will switch with Tifa; he and Cloud take the day and you and Tifa take the night. Minor chance I’ll get the capture system working by then.”
Aeris works with Zack as part of a supernatural investigation team, normally investigating spiritual disturbances during the daytime. An accident puts Cloud who works on the night-team out of commission and as a result Aeris winds up accompanying Tifa on a night-time visit to the Train Graveyard.

“What is it with you and cats?” Cait Sith strangely did not reply; he lay inert, his new programming transferring across.
Cat obsession was a weird, weird bug. Previously there seemed to be some corruption in the robot’s visual memory which meant the request for multiple objects happened to match the visual library for cat-shaped objects – Wutai having employed some obscure armour type in the past; hence its inclusion. Also a strange issue with Cait Sith catching sight of itself in a reflective surface. Both bugs at least made some sense, though remained annoying. And now a perfect opportunity had arisen to test the autonomous capability and newly debugged code; tracking down Avalanche.
Reeve is pretty sure he's fixed Cait Sith's cat fixation. Pretty sure.

Director Reeve Tuesti didn't choose to become a spy, but orders from President Rufus Shinra are not to be refused. He didn't choose to admire a group of renegades, but now that they're a part of his life he can't walk away so easily.

"Through Another's Eyes" is an in-depth view of the major notes of Reeve's story in Final Fantasy VII, starting from Marlene's abduction by Shinra to the end of the original game--rewriting some concepts and adding elements from the Compilation of FF7, including Before Crisis and FFVII Remake.Hope everyone enjoys a guilt-ridden robotics engineer as much as I do. Reeve should be doing something else while the upload trundled on, but concentrating on anything else – including actual work expected in his position – was near impossible.
This was a big moment.
A culmination of so much; creating the robotics, creating the interface, controls. Walking motions, balance, the tiny cameras in the cat’s eyes – all complex but doable. He could control his robotic creation with a deft, almost unnoticeable touch via remote. With much practice came experience and skill in gauging distances and the speed of the robot under his direct control. He was pretty perfect at guiding Cait Sith now – if only he could fully devote his time to operating the cat.
The original plan was for Reeve to operate Cait Sith directly. This was not tenable given all the expectations of his normal work. All seemed lost until he learned of a division with Shinra experimenting with artificial intelligence. Shame something seems to have gone badly wrong when applied to Reeve's robot.

We can also hear the spirits of those who return to the Planet.” Ifalna was looking at her meaningfully.
Elmyra saved Ifalna at the station; now she and Aeris are living with her.

Reno handed her the note without comment, plucked a flower from the basket and hurried on.

Tifa pushed the door of her apartment closed and flipped on the light. The light-bulb bloomed, dulled off-white light illuminating the cramped room; she winced. The switch on the wall connected the circuit, electricity rushing through wires to the bulb. Like a torrent of water, straining through the cabling from within the building, from outside. The cables would merge with others, thicker and thicker until at a certain juncture, they would join one of the trunk cables. These drew electricity down below the plate; at their terminus was one of the six operational reactors within the city.
Tifa dwells on the cost of turning on the lights.

Something was different when she reached the house, the air thick with an unfamiliar scent. Aeris walked past the front door, following the dirt path to the river’s edge. The common insistence was nothing could or did grow in Midgar. Not entirely correct. Nothing could grow in the toxic, Mako and heavy-metal tainted soil, but places existed on the Upper Plate capable of desperately coaxing plants to grow on imported soil for sale at extortionate prices. The insistence also ignored the algae.
Aeris finds fertile soil in the church and wants to make use of it. At the same time, the river is consumed by an algae bloom.

The crash jerked Jessie awake. She let out a moan as a wave of refreshed pain rolled over her. Somehow the pillar still stood. How long since Tifa and Cloud had been with her? A rumble from somewhere high above. Who could say how long she had left. Tempting to wait it out but- No. With a sob of pain, she pushed upright against the wall. Panting she stumbled forward.
Jessie clings to life at the pillar and takes the opportunity to get out before the worst.
