Summary
You’ve fallen in love with all the Hex over and over. You’d learned about all kinds of love, familial, friends, romantic, sexual. You rewrote history with it, literally, saving the Hex and the entire city of Hollovania. You’d settled into a happy relationship with Eleanor, within the repeating years.
That was until Flare and Lizzie showed up. You’ve reset the year, wiping the memories of your most precious people again and again, desperate to follow the social rules you’re barely able to grasp. Stuck trying not to fall in love with too many people.
You’ve finally given up, deciding if you can’t follow the rules as you understand them, then maybe you aren’t cut out for romance. But this time, one of the three has decided they're done dealing with you running away from your feelings.
Is it the mind reader who can occasionally glimpse your memories of relationships with all the members of the hex, and feel your lingering desires and love? Is it the emotionally intuitive and observant poet and grieving musician? Or the eldritch entity that may understand what it’s like to live outside of time better than even you?

After their first New Year’s Eve kiss, the Drifter and Eleanor Nightingale thought they could put the bad endings to 1999 behind them, especially the fate of Scaldra Major Neci Rusalka. Then four new Protoframes crashed their headquarters. Proto-Frost and Proto-Saryn claim they’re hunting for Neci Rusalka, wanted dead or alive. Mostly alive. And hopefully sane. Definitely not turned into a hollowed out puppet of the Great Indifference.
Drifter wasn’t particularly interested in saving a civilian-gassing militia leader from her own hubris. Eleanor didn’t sign up to play marriage counselor to a pair of libertatian spies who’s arguments put her divorced parents to shame.
Unfortunately, foiling the Great Indifference’s influence on their home means untangling the web of missing, missing reasons that led Neci Rusalka right into Its grasp.
