OR
Floyd basically ends up raising Branch while trying to heal from his family abandoning him. Oh, and, the other brothers have no idea Branch exists. Floyd-centered, because his role deserves more recognition.

Summary
Poppy is the king of Pop Village, loved by all the trolls for his kindness and joy. He managed to make friends with the feared bergens and trolls from other nations, and he enters the heart of any being without difficulty. His life is completely perfect, without any trouble or sadness. However, things get complicated when a troll bursts into the wedding, shouting that he is looking for a troll.
A gray troll, known for her bad-tempered and rude attitudes, is hated for always ruining other trolls' parties. She has a savage appearance, covered in dirt and bruises, and is ready to bite anyone who gets too close.
Including King Poppy.

Turning around, John slowly looks back up at their pod, he could just barely make out a flash of Purple crashing out of it, followed not long after by a crazed streak of Yellow, both scampering higher up into the tree. Oh, so they stormed out together, that’s good, that they're not alone. He’s glad for once that they never follow his lead, afterall, this would be the worst time for his brothers to start taking after him.
Essentially, another John Dory came back story, where John didn't know the others left! Because I don't think he did. I don't know why I'm obsessed with this one Troll, but I am. Also, I am sprinkling in headcanons because I can, tell me yours and we can talk about it.

It's very hard for people to overcome first impressions. Not impossible, but difficult. When the first impression isn't the one you expected it to be, sometimes the false impression overwrites - but when the first impression is too blunt, too bold, too brutal to ignore? Well, that changes how you think of something. Or, in this case, someone.
Alternatively, my take on how Trolls: Band Together might have gone differently with a few tripped triggers and a Poppy more aware of just how badly Branch had been wronged, because she always did just want him to be happy.
