Yo, Ive been thinking about this for a while but im not satisfied with the first arc anymore. Much of the story’s core will remain but there will be some major shifts in character relationships.
Arriving in Inkopolis in search of someone close to him, our yellow Inkling is quickly sucked into a chaotic new life as he becomes Agent 4 for the New Squidbeak Splatoon. Follow his adventures throughout Inkopolis as he, Pearl, and Marina go from friends to family all the while he unknowingly walks towards his fated death.
Meanwhile, something is brewing in the background. Code Name: The Octoling Transmutation Project.

Summary
Not long after Commander Tartar's attempt to destroy Inkopolis and the world is foiled, Agent 3 wakes up from his coma with noticeable disfigurations from having been hijacked by Tartar. Concerned about the effects Tartar's hijacking could have had on Agent 3's noggin, Cap'n Cuttlefish assigns a partner to Agent 3: the Octoling girl who had freed him from Tartar's control and defeated the creature, Agent 8. Although reluctant to have Agent 8 working alongside him, a series of misadventures leads the two agents to begin developing… complicated… feelings for each other.
However, trouble is brewing for the New Squidbeak Splatoon and Inkopolis. Although Tartar and his NILS Statue were destroyed, the city soon finds itself falling prey to a string of squidnappings, only for the victims to turn up as Sanitized zombies bent on destroying the world around them.
But, with Tartar gone, who could be Sanitizing Inklings and Octolings alike? Will Agent 3 and Agent 8 ride off into the sunset together? Will I find my wallet? Let's find out together...

It's been a few days since the initial grayscaling incident, but it's effects still linger. Everyone in Inkopolis seemed to have gone back to normal, but a few still seemed pretty out of it. Those being the inkfish and other sea creatures that had palettes in the spire.
Although 8 completed everyone's palette, they all still seem to be in some kind of “Seasonal depression” if you could call it that, including Inkopolis’ idols.

So much has happened the past few years, DJ Octavio's defeat in claiming the Great Zapfish, Commander Tarter's doomsday laser, and Mr. Grizz's failed attempt to bring mammals back to the planet. Some of which could have spelled the end of Inkling-kind and the end of the world, but now a year has passed and things have finally settled down for the New Squidbeak Splatoon.

DJ Octavio is still loose, and a band of criminals and disgruntled turfers has made a name for themselves in Inkopolis. And to make matters worse, the Great Zapfish has been stolen!...again.
At the same time, a few creatures, the likes of which the world thought would never see again, has stepped back out into the light to a world they are never prepared for. But there is more to these creatures than it meets the eye.
Can the heroic agents of Splatoon save the day yet again? And can these creatures cope with this new world they're thrusted into. And if these two races meet, will they bide in friendship, or will someone go splat? -

The Deepsea metro hasn’t been reopened so they can't just walk out, this wasted city has the army on the streets, hideous creatures and Octarians, and other Octolings who seem perfectly normal from all this chaos and destruction.
There is a new concert happening... i guess that can help.
Three little Octolings are sick of this… or rather just one, but she convinces them to go, and to reach Inkopolis so they can finally feel safe. From everything and everyone.
They're not alone and will never be alone.
....Just one problem, how do they get there?
