His gaze roams over Arthur’s face, slightly cross-eyed from the proximity. For a fraction of a second, his blue eyes flick to Arthur’s lips before they close. Merlin huffs, extracting himself from the small space, leaving Arthur there with a pounding heart and warm face. Why does this always happen when Merlin’s close?

She didn’t seem to understand his advances and even though it was adorable, Sol, was it frustrating. But he could tell she felt something because the way her glowing ruby eyes lit up when he was around melted his damaged heart and made him ache.
