    “Angelo?” He calls out, trying desperately to iron out the worry in his voice; Raph’d told him once that as big brothers, you couldn’t get scared, because it’d just make them more scared.

    But Donnie doesn’t think he can be brave like Raph. He’s scared now.

    “Michelangelo!” He calls out louder this time. Full naming sometimes sent his brother back in his vicinity, mostly because they found it condescending and chastising. But Mikey doesn’t emerge to winge at him.

    The tunnel is empty and brother-less.

    Donnie’s heart is thundering hard at the inside of his chest, like it might just pop right out of his plastron. He turns back around on his heel. Maybe he slipped by him whilst he was waiting and headed further on.

    Stagnant sewer water kicks up around his ankles and bare feet as he does a little half run.

    Don’t panic, a voice is telling him inside his head. He can’t of gone far.

    Something hot and prickly is biting at the backs of his eyes so he blinks harshly to rid the feeling. But the longer he trots along, and the longer Mikey stays gone, the awful hot feeling remains.

    Mikey was... difficult.

    "It comes with being a teenager." Raph tried to tell himself... but he knew it didn't. Donnie and Leo never acted like this. This... this wasn't normal.

    "If you continue to baby him, he will never learn to be independent. Or worse... Just saying. You might end up... ya know. Chasing him away."

    Oh, how Raph wished he had listened to Donnie.

    Or

    They used to be close. The closest. Until Raph's smothering became... too much. And they drifted apart.

    Mikey never realized just how much it hurt that he and Raph drifted away, until he ends up with an unconcious Raphael, trapped in a collapsing building, and unable to reach his brothers.

    The episode we were robbed off. Canceled, much to my dismay. So I wrote it myself.

    Yes, fine, sometimes Leo would give up on doing whatever he wanted to do in favor of doing what Donnie wanted even though it clearly frustrated him that they once again couldn’t go to a movie because Donnie couldn’t bear the thought of sitting with a bunch of chewing people, surrounded by too loud speakers and no access to his phone in case it all got to be too much, but—

    God, he felt like a jerk.

    Human AU where Donnie overhears Leo's friends talk about him, which makes him realize he's been a pretty awful twin. From there he just goes spiralling.

    Naturally, the one who ends up getting hurt is Leo.

    The last thing he remembers is... what does he remember? A warm feeling in his mind, his big brothers huddled close around him. Everything was right, everyone was okay. There's no reason to do anything else but survive together.
    The four turtle brothers find their New York in a new bit of trouble. Donnie said the mutagen bomb could've caused an apocalypses, so a god must have had mercy on their souls as an orange light struck the bomb down. Yet they didn't leave unscathed. Mutagen ash fell from the sky, and now New York had a hot zone of mutated humans and animals. It's up to the boys to help the new mutants and clean up the mess. Unfortunately not all the inhabitants of New York are as easy to help as they'd hope, especially the four new turtles that seem to much prefer spilling blood.

    Rain lashes down upon them, merciless, but Orange is only aware of the acute details he takes comfort in on that first night. Red’s spikes slightly dig into his arms. Purple’s breath tickling his cheek. Blue’s claws brushing against his scutes. And, most of all, the soft vocalisations that hum in their throats like a soft lullaby. Chirps and clicks that rumble in their chests, promises of safety and love lining each vibration. They drown out the booms of thunder, wrapping Orange in his own safety net as he closes his eyes. Entirely unique, these sounds mean his brothers are here, that he is safe.

    When they were tots, Mikey found comfort in the chirps his brothers would make to calm him. Now, faced with the destruction of their home, he seeks this comfort once more.

    TLDR: An excuse to write about chirping turtles because I love the idea.
