Summary
Rodger and Brightney had settled into a comfortable enough routine: brave the lower levels of Gardenview, extract ichor, and try to learn all they could about the Twisteds with the help of Dandy — and, of course, try to keep Toodles from diving headfirst into danger while they were at it. But that routine begins to crumble when Rodger spots a curious detail about the Twisteds, something that sets the two of them on a path towards something Dandy seems keen on avoiding.
They’d both be fools to call pursuing it anything other than reckless and dangerous, but… well, uncovering the truth was so much more rewarding than staying safe, wasn’t it?

Summary
Rodger, an aspiring detective learns of a certain lead about his recent case down in the floors. He follows that lead foolishly, leading to his untimely demise. He’s doomed. No twisted can return back to the state they were originally were. They’ll forever be lost, wandering around the floors of Gardenview with nothing but instinct and leftover emotions.
That is, until Rodger wakes up, fully conscious of what is happening. Now Rodger wanders the lower floors of Gardenview, his determination unwavering as he looks for the truth behind all this. Will he be able to find it? Or will he fall like all the other ones.

He gagged as he breathed fresh air for a moment, looking frantically at the area where he was pushed. He was expecting to see a toon, but there was nobody there. He was pulled down the ichor, and he could feel like his legs were being liquidated. His legs burned, and so did his arms and face. The ichor was suffocating, and he could feel himself choking on it. It was like he was being squished, yet not at the same time. Like he was tied to something and nothing.-His mind was too cloudy, too foggy to even process what happened after he had fallen. All he could feel the need to was to trick and hunt. And that he did. He was thrown somewhere, he doesn’t know. Hide, Hide, Hide. He could hear footsteps. Wait, Wait, Wait. Something loud happened, and before he knew it, someone attempted to pick him up. !!! He breaks out of his capsule, forming his body rather quickly. Hunt, Hunt. HUNT. And it’s time to hun- OW- Rodger hit his head on the desk as he was forming from capsule form, with him hearing a loud crack noise as he did. He could feel that his face was in pain, but before he could even think about it, he got knocked out cold.-Rodger slowly regains consciousness, rubbing the back of his head. How did- oh. He looked around. It seems to be another room having a staff-only area, with an ichor puddle still under that door. There seems to be a trail of ichor leading to where he was right now.-He hears something drop to the ground and seizes up. Looks like he may have company. He tries to back away, feeling the need to hide. He is panicking, he doesn’t know if he can run in this form. He feels himself melt into the floor before returning to capsule state. …There’s nothing there. He calmed himself down and tries to reform himself back to his… twisted form. The capsule breaks, and Rodger rose up from the puddle. …Okay, first things first, he’ll have to check himself. He looked at his body. His lower half is just pure ichor now. He patted himself, looks like his suit is messed up now, with his suit having scratches and wrinkles all over it, and his neckpiece being drenched in ichor now. He touches his face, feeling a crack going straight through his eye.Pebble looked at him with an angry expression, still growling. Okay! He may be doomed… Pebble slowly stopped growling. Huh... seems like it worked?He felt something on the counter and just felt the need to throw it at something, so he threw it at the twisted, knocking it out. Rodger just stared at the twisted’s body… did he just do that? Did he just kill that twisted? He slid over to where the Twisted Boxten was and felt for a heartbeat. He can feel a heartbeat as the Twisted Boxten slept. Phew, thought he was about to get a body count there! barked- “Walk a little bit faster, would ya?” Rodger stopped at his tracks as he looks at the Pebble. The Pebble continued walking before stopping as well and stared at Rodger. “Oh, right, forgot you didn’t know I could talk, huh?” Rodger thinks it’s common knowledge to think that dogs do not know how to talk. This is a mystery to him. He pats his suit, looking to grab his notepad and pen. Which he didn’t find an slightly sulked. “Oh, on second thought, we should go down.” Jeez, what is going on with Rodger today? He shouldn’t be asking these kinds of questions, especially when he should know the answer to them.

I love this!!!! I love this very much! Definitely a favourite :]My favourite toons - Rodger and Astro - getting delightful spotlight and feeling in character. Delectable angst, a sprinkle of fluff, plenty of hurt/comfort (my beloved), biased narration based on p.o.v, arguments that feel real, Dandy being morally grey- it's great!
Reminds me of a rp I was apart of.
((Spoilers below, for my own reference))
In which no one is good, no one is bad, nightmares plague Astro and Rodger (What is real, what is not?), ichor is Dandy's potential key to immortality- toon and human blood, mental states are out the window, and Rodger may or may not be becoming twisted :]
(Pebble's on the loose, Rodger is a half sane twisted locked in his room, everyone is holding up in the medical bay. Astro adventures...)
