Summary
The Pendragons have been cursed with lycanthropy for generations. Only, it isn't a curse. It is a gift, given to the Pendragons in thanks for saving a fairy's life.
Uther blamed the arcane for the "curse" and banned all arcane beings. As King, Arthur welcomed back druids, werewolves, and fey with open arms. He has a loyal pack, and now he has Merlin. A druid specially trained to tether werewolf packs to humanity.
But being a werewolf has earned Arthur powerful enemies, and there is a traitor in the Pack.

Arthur paced around his room, waiting.
He had thought he was used to waiting. It was crucial in battle, when waiting for your opponent to expose their weakness could mean life or death. It was the same during a tournament, or even a friendly match between knights. He could wait patiently during hunts, not moving a muscle as he waited for the perfect shot. It was easy, simple.
It was second nature.
This waiting, though, was torture. It was waiting for his lover, his Merlin, to return from woods where he could get injured or killed in a hundred different ways. And Arthur was not there to protect him, or watch his back, because Arthur had to make a show of being in the castle to avoid gossip.
