This is part 3 of 4 of my ‘Morgana’s Redemption’ series. I think BBC Merlin went bad around the start of season 3- so I am writing a different ending.
Arthur is High King of most of Albion. He has lifted the ban on sorcery, and made a pact with the sorcerer's of the Isle of Mists. Morgana is now the High Priestess of the Old Religion. This story covers the early part of Arthur's reign and the quest for the Holy Grail. Drawing from the myth in Merlin fashion, but this work is sympathetic to the oppressed magical people. Morgana-centric.
‘Alchemy’ is part 1. It’s a collection of scenes added to Merlin episodes covering end of S1 to end of S2. Alchemy is really dark, and less essential than part 2. I have added in Morgana, Uther and Morgause subplots mostly, giving my backstory to these characters. Reading Part 2 ‘Enchanting Crystal’ is advisable. Enchanting Crystal covers Morgana's return after one year with Morgause, though done very differently, through to Arthur's rise to high king of most of Albion, with lots of twists and turns.
This story picks up right where Enchanting Crystal left off. Please note that Agravaine is an entirely different character in my Merlin-verse, in looks and personality.

After discovering a secret meeting between Mordred, Morgana, and a mysterious woman Merlin has never seen before, his deepest fear is realized when he is forced to reveal his magic in an attempt to protect Arthur and Guinevere from a deadly assassination plot at the hands of Morgana. With Merlin’s most guarded secret revealed, will Mordred succeed in fulfilling his destiny? Or will Merlin be able to stop him?

And Merlin saw how Arthur saw it. He saw how it looked. He shook his head helplessly because he also saw one other thing: Arthur wasn't going to believe him. He had attacked a knight of Camelot. With magic. Arthur and Gwen had seen. And Mordred, though he was the true traitor, had not done anything to suggest that he was. Mordred looked completely innocent. And Merlin looked very much guilty.

A rewrite of witch’s quickening where sorcerers actually use magic at their disposal, Morgana is not irrationally transformed into a cheap villain, Merlin gets his bamf moments as well as lots of blundering (as do the others) and the self-proclaimed messiahs do they best to fight the fight. There will be also spying birds, sentient forests and druids, because they are invested in the whole matter and want Merlin to succeed. And Arthur will start his journey into existential crisis but also prove his worth as a knight, even if he is being babysitted by bunch of people. And as always, actions have consequences.
The story is divided into two parts - the first ends with the episode with some changes, the second is (at least slightly) logical conclusion of what has happened. And then some extras.
