In which Damian, a half-fae changeling, goes on a quest to ‘catch’ his father, and along the way picks up new siblings like they’re Pokémon.

Mother often told Damian stories about his father. The great Batman and how clever and strong he was, able to live within a Fae court without losing his name, freedom, or form. It was a feat unreplicated by any human before, and Mother thought it likely there would be no human after. There had been a few runaway cases, quickly solved, lost children at malls, soon found, but out-and-out missing? The kind of missing that left a broken family in its wake and parents who will never know the truth?No.
But Bruce knew what the evidence suggested. Somewhere in the tiny town of Stoneybrook, a monster lurked. He didn’t yet know WHO they were, but he knew they were there. Hiding their nature. “C’mon! We’re losin’ daylight!” Jason called through the door, tapping his foot impatiently. “We’re gonna leave without ya if ya don’t get out here!”“I’m coming! I’m coming!” Lian squealed as she ran by him, hoisting her backpack full of toys over her back. “Hurry up Tim!”
“He doesn’t mean that literally, Lee!” Tim called as he followed much more sedately. Lian, of course, was taking no chances. She was already in her booster seat and buckling herself in, Roy patiently waiting by the open door in case she needed help.
“You don’t know that.” Jason teased, giving Tim a little nudge out the door before he closed and locked it.
Tim caught himself on the wall and gave Jason a very unimpressed look.
Jason responded appropriately, as was his right as the big brother slash mother here, by cooing and ruffling the hair on his pup’s head. Tim squawked in protest and darted forward, sliding into the backseat of Roy’s truck before Jason could catch up.

Summary
Omegas were generaly smaller and weaker than their alpha and beta counterparts. A pup-heat, more often than not, meant coaxing – calls, trills, gently herding their grown pups towards the nest, as they would be too heavy to heavy to carry when scruffed.
Bruce, as always, was an exception.

Or, Tim gets sick just before Bruce's heat, triggering a pup-heat instead.
Bruce is dead set on having all pups in the nest and within his eyesight as soon as possible with little concern for where they are or what they are doing.
Chaos ensues.

Dick Grayson hugs the way most people breathe: easy and natural, like it's a necessary part of living.
Tim's wrapped up in one now, his brother's arms all the way around his shoulders, tugging him in close.
He's never told Dick that the first hug he can remember is that day at the circus, from a stranger who would in time be family. He's never told Dick that the next hug he remembers after that is nine years later, caught up in those same strong arms. He thinks he'd rather die than admit it.
"You're not hurt?" Dick is saying. "Nothing cruel and unusual, right?"
"She only let me have one cup of coffee a day," says Tim, very dry, and Dick makes a strange sort of a sound, almost a laugh, and tightens his hold so much it sweeps Tim right off his feet.
