XD was dying.
It had been slow at first. Insignificantly small pieces of him were being ripped out and, as his being as a whole was infinite, he’d barely noticed.
But for months, years maybe, his divinity had been slowly depleting, until one day he realized that his connection to Limbo had been almost completely severed. A whole chunk of him was about to no longer exist. And it was a small fraction of an infinite, but it was one he could no longer ignore regardless.
From there, it kept getting worse. The human, Dream, the one that was stealing away his being piece by piece, was getting greedier. More impatient. More foolish. XD needed to stop his act of hubris.

"You know, you could use your chosen one to carry out your bidding” Foolish pointed out after a moment of reflection. “But nobody is gonna rally beside Tommy right now. They’ve all been wounded far too deeply by the events you refused to stop. There is no understanding between them. No empathy. No care. They’re divided, scattered, lost. Tommy has no consecutive idea as to why he agreed to babysit for his best friend(s?), still recovering from the cumulative amount of damage both physically and mentally dealt to himself and reasoning against spending time with both causations of his frazzled mental state. Looking after the small little zombiefied piglin was somehow not part of the docat.
Or - Tommy suffering through having crushes on people who've caused him anguish, rebuilding relationships, and surprising everyone with the fact he does indeed know how to take care of a toddler.

Omigosh, I wasn't a big Clex/Suplex shipper until this fic. I love how this handled soulmates, how being soulmates cannot erase the pain you inflicted unto your other half, how he chooses Lex not because he is his soulmate but because Lex finally sees him as a person. I LOVE HOW MESSY IT WAS AT FIRST and over time you can see it change as Lex has to grapple that Superman is a man like him too, not only that but from humble origins. The self-destructive tendencies of Lex Luthor is so good too, how his fear tactics are a way of trying to convince himself that he is unworthy of love and a fucking monster. Read this all in one night. 10/10

It was surprisingly hard to keep a vigilante presence off the radar.
Somehow, it was when Tommy was using his identity that could literally turn invisible, that he’d been almost immediately clocked by the heroes. He’d really only been just starting to have a presence when the heroes cornered him about it. Surprisingly, instead of attempting arrest, they’d recruited him. And who was he to say no to free access to the hero database and nice bathrooms?
One power per secret identity, that was his rule, and he still had a couple more up his sleeve. The heroes could have one. As a treat. He was generous like that. He’d just take more care to keep his other identities off the radar.
Simple.
If only things worked out as planned. Somehow, it hadn’t taken long for his next vigilante persona to be noticed as well, though not by heroes this time.
“I hear you talk to ghosts.” Said a deadpan voice.--
Tommy can't help wanting to help, and he keeps getting powers so why not have more than one secret identity, yeah? Hero, vigilante, villain, coffee barista, and maybe one other.
Or I read so, so many vigilante fics that I caved in and stuffed all of my ideas into one fic.

Honestly I think this is one of the best tommyinnit fics ive read, it perfectly encapsulates all those vigilante/superhero fics that were super popular during the DSMP era but it adds its own unique flavor bc tommy is out here trying to overwork himself to the bone. The comedy is really good, just the hilarity of certain situations and there isn't any excessive swearing which is a common pitfall when writing tommy. I also just love the usage of all the characters, like to me I feel that each and every character is used to their full potential and most of them have a reason as to why they are so significant and thus need to be included in tommy's story. Genuinely couldn't get enough of each chapter. It has a lot of features of peak DSMP era fics that I loved while also having this nuance and love for the characters that truly feel eternal somehow.

X huffs out a soft laugh despite himself. “Yes, first time. I smelled something good on my way to work.”
“Oh? Then you have good instincts,” the guy says, then leans slightly forward on his elbows like he’s about to tell him a secret. “Everything’s fresh. And I always put out the really good stuff in the early morning.”
X’s mouth opens. His brain says something stupid along the lines of ‘you're really good stuff so early in the morning’, but his mouth, blessedly, filters it into, “What do you recommend?”
The guy straightens. “Depends. What do you like?”
Cute guys with brown hair and cat pins on their aprons. X hesitates. His eyes are tracing the boy’s features, the flour on the forearms, the smile that’s a little too bright for this early in the morning and that creases beneath his eyes. He smells like vanilla and butter when X breathes in.
“Sweet,” he hears himself say instead. “Really sweet.”

Crazy how I came for the ship and stayed for the kid OCs, genuinely was so invested in their relationship and also character writing, very attune to how kids are smarter than we give them credit for but still have a limited perspective on life. The slow burn cooked too, its slow but not too slow that it frustrates you.
