The afternoon sun was slanting through the leaves of the tall trees of Thargelion, sending shafts of golden light through the emerald foliage. Around them were his guards and retainers, plus a contingent of the Men who had allied themselves with him – and who had earned themselves Caranthir's eternal gratitude. He wasn't sure who was more uncomfortable with the situation, though, himself or Ulfang. Nonetheless Ulfang had returned Caranthir's son to him and that was a grace he had not thought he would ever receive.
