And it would all have been relatively simple and easy if it weren't for two giant alien jet robots throwing her airspace into chaos. ***I encourage those who usually don't read teachers/students to give this a chance. There are no instances in which there are taboo power dynamics, at least of a sexual nature. Heed the slow burn quite literally. A smoldering if you will.
After catching Y/N breaking the rules, Severus Snape sees the layers of the quiet student's personality peel before his eyes. Takes place in the 90's like the movies (I'd like to think 1996 or 1997), but some character time-canon things are tweaked, so it's not strictly canon-compliant (Draco is not at Hogwarts yet/Weasley twins are in their third year). I write her being 20-21 in mind, but feel free to self-insert a different age. Reader is a 7th-year student who transferred in her 5th year. Snape being Draco's godfather fanon trope included. Malfoy family is a little OOC (not blood supremacists.)

He'd offer a half-hearted smirk if they could see past the metal mask still affixed tight to his face. Perhaps the word 'muzzle' is more appropriate, much as it makes him seethe: a leftover invention of eastern colonists who feared blood-drinking barbarians breaking their chains and cannibalizing innocents.
Those in the West may see him an impotent, broken man; in the East, they see a monster.

Kotallo comforts each of his squad: Alva injured in battle, Erend sick and stubborn, Zo needing support, and Aloy and Beta struggling to find connection. He swore on his life to give them whatever he has left.
And when he needs them most, his squad returns the favor. Whether he feels he deserves it or not.

Three shots ring out.
Steve hears them before he feels them; a warm, wet pain burning in his torso, intolerably excruciating.
There’s a bundle of squawks and screams, outbursts of panic and anger, and it’s only when Hopper falls forwards to take Steve up into a slightly rough, protective hold, does he realize that two of those shots have lodged themselves in his own flesh and bone. (Realizes that he’d moved, instinctively, to shield El, despite never having spoken to her, who’d the gun had been so precisely pointed at, aimed for.)
Steve Harrington watches his own blood pool and trickle over a series of hands pressed against him, small and large, soft and rugged, and for a moment, wants to stay like this. He can’t.
