And then, once their conquest is complete, she will return to Waterdeep with her wizard and lay in this bed with him (annoyed, because he didn’t close the curtains properly and the sun is creeping in through the crack). It will be so, it will be good.

Abdirak turns abruptly, startling even Astarion as he takes his hand in a dramatic grip, “I’ve already told you, if you’re willing to be taken by the sensory, we are in the perfect place for deeper exploration!” He releases Astarion to throw his hands high to the ceiling, savoring every word. “Every nerve, burning, singing, exposed!”

Astarion and V encounter Abdirak in the myconid colony, where he guides them on a journey through the sensory- perhaps helping to alleviate some baggage along the way.

Usually, when faced with one of Harry's non sequiturs, Kim would intentionally force his face to remain neutral, carefully hiding either confusion or a grin.
This time however, he opened his mouth to speak, then stopped himself before a single word left his lips. His eyebrows creased in a look of intense concentration, while his gaze went right through Harry, then snapped back into focus. Before the lieutenant was able to reign in his expression again, something flickered over his face.

He kept his words ambiguous; he knew that in the core of the concept, there wasn't a mystery, he would stay until they told him it was time to go... and there many ways to tell him to go. He was always listening for them. There was a sweetness and bitterness to the new experience, timidly coming in slowly in his life, and knew it can be torn from him. He didn't know if it would be a mercy or a tragedy if it was. He still didn't know if it was a welcomed distraction, or if it was a distraction at all.
