Summary
Arthur has always had strict thoughts and beliefs every since he was a kid due to his disciplinary but melancholic catholic school experiences. Now at the age of 23 he has been hired to become a new bartender in his peaceful hometown in rural England. He meets an intriguing new Frenchman qnd makes an acquaintance. Over time, Arthur becomes more weary of whether Francis truly saw him as just a friend. He feared his close friend becoming a sinful man. It repulsed Arthur but in a way he didn't understand how something as pure as love could be seen as sinister. Arthur is now put to the task of not only surviving his new job as a bartender but also deciding if he should go against his catholic beliefs and morals he thought he'd die believing, or ruining his reputation and even relationships with his brothers and Francis himself.
