"Go where?" Mando asked.
"Anywhere!" You burst out, surprising you both when you punctuated it by pounding your fist into the floor. "I need..." Your voice cracked. "T-t-to... Leave..."
Mando flinched at your words, and you dissolved into fresh sobs. His footsteps retreated, and a few minutes later you felt the ship drop out of the hyperspace lane. Suddenly, you felt wretched. It was that simple. All you had to do was tell him you were leaving, and he would just let you go.
When you leave, you and Mando have to figure out how to navigate the space between you. And maybe find your way back to each other.
