Their puppeteer regurgitated this to Kris in their times of rebellion. Their controller repeated this mantra, again and again, whenever raising their blade made Kris sickly and frail. The strings would cut away their will, choke the oxygen from them, until their lips turned cyanotic and their mind would grow fuzzy.
The Dark Worlds fell to their hand; they had power and acuity enough to compact the world into bits for coding and consumption. The driving beast inside of them made them a slave. Their sole freedom was the fading moments of sleep, a biological need overcoming divine intervention. They had. To sleep.
It meant giving up and dangling on the strings of their once-compatriot turned betrayer. It meant being the behaved, pathetic little meager one.
"Excellence is praised."

These words were not for Kris. To them, Kris did not subscribe. But their choice was of little consequence at the heels of a beast that never relented. But there was always that light at the end.The light telling them... that those words were not meant for Kris.

Summary
Kris is more determined than normal; but with every advantage a vessel gains, their opposition must gain one greater than that. A more outgoing and charismatic Kris can tackle some of their problems head on, but they very quickly find that they’re not the only one with agency they lacked before. And while they can finally reach for what they truly desire, sometimes that’s in contrast to what they think they want.
With a soul that whispers prescient instructions, and friends that seem very worried about the Dark World they find themselves in, Kris can only hope that, in the end, they can make things work out in their favour.
