Now the Golden Guard and her daughter are trapped in the mind of the Emperor. Was it the potion? Was it Belos? Did he hurt them? Are they even alive – No, Eda. Deep breaths. Don't panic. All you need to do is make another potion, and get those kids out of there. It'll only take a couple of days. They'll be okay, right?

In the wake of a failed retrieval, Hunter and Luz are trapped in the Mindscape of Emperor Belos. For the outside world, they're only stuck in there for a few days. But for those two, it's much longer. And when the duo is finally rescued from the depths of the Emperor's mind, it only takes a second to realize that something's wrong.
Post-Hollow Mind AU where time works differently in Belos’ Mindscape, and after Luz and Hunter miss the first teleportation, they end up stuck in there for nearly a full year.
Featuring two extremely traumatized teens, a rebellion determined to overthrow the emperor, a group of students determined to see their friends smile, and an Owl Lady who just wants to protect her three kids.

Before the sickeningly-bubbly human, Luz fell into her life, Eda didn't have much entertainment besides outrunning the Emperor's Coven and scamming the citizens of the Boiling Isles. Now, she wonders how she used to live before the fragile human teen wormed her way into her aging, cursed heart. This story follows Eda in between scenes when she's watching her dumb kids interact with one another. Mostly mother/daughter bonding for the Owl Lady and her adopted kids.

Summary
Luz knew that she wasn’t supposed to play in the graveyard. Mami told her no. Papi told her no. And yet, she still did it.
An adventure to the Gravesfield Graveyard at five years old reveals something that not even the overly imaginative Luz could have foreseen. This discovery not only changes Luz in a way she can never return from, but it also rips her from her home and her family.
Now in an unfamiliar land, Luz is sent to the local orphanage. There, she meets her very first and very best friend, Amity. They support each other in a world where they have no one. Their bond is not just built on love and trust, but magic as well. Nothing will tear them apart.
Until a promise is broken.
Separated, Luz finds a new family with Eda Clawthorne. She grows and learns magic like she had always dreamed. But Luz is missing a big piece of herself. And she wants it back.
It seems too good to be true when Luz and Amity meet again. But broken trust and broken hearts are not healed so easily. Especially when dark forces are at work that are waiting for the opportunity to swallow them whole.

With Orion living in the castle and feeling displaced, Hunter goes to Evelyn in hopes to find a way to bring his newfound brother peace and feel at home in this new Boiling Isles. But despite the hopes they have for the Isles, a new threat emerges in the hopes to keep the Isles safe, but at a steep cost.

Philip isn't as clever or correct as he tells himself, Caleb is not exactly as dead as one must think, and Luz is trapped in Belos's mind, not understanding anything nor why Hunter is breaking down.
