It's almost-winter in Hawkins and Will wants to go out on a walk. Worried with the possibility of being taken again haunting him, the idea of someone else being taken instead, not to the upside down, but to his world, doesn't even cross his mind until he walks into a familiar face. But this face, shouldn't be here.
:Will comes across Mike. But Mike's not from his world. This Mike is from a universe when instead of Will disappearing on November 6th, it was him instead.
Trying to not cause some catastrophic world-ending event, Will attempts to hide this Mike from everyone else, hyjinks ensue.

Summary
Mike Wheeler is oblivious to many things, fortunately for Hawkins, and the rest of the world, this time he isn't.
While Mike is writing a novel, fictional of course, about the things they've been through, he starts to notice some things aren't adding up. There are chunks of time in his memory, even from recent event, missing.
After realizing that somethings off with the events of taking down Vecna, Mike has to convince the rest of the party, and himself, that he isn't crazy and that their fight isn't over.The party sets out on their real last adventure and fight to escape their minds that Vecna has trapped them in. Making their way through haunting memories to find their way out and finally rest and live normal lives without a new threat knocking at their doors.
Set the summer after the epilogue graduation but some things play out a little differently.
Based somewhat off of conformity gate with my own twists on some things. This is my first fic but this is most likely going to be better than the ChatGPT written ending we got from the duffel bags. Eddie has been watching mike ever since he found out where vecna was hiding him. He had a hard time breaking free from the conformity gate curse. So it's no surprise when see's that mike is still under the spell. Mike was always the most susceptible to Normative Influences. He was so close to breaking that propaganda bubble before Eddie was turned into a vampire. To say mike looked like shit, would be the understatement of the century. What has vecna done to him, his hair, eyes, and clothes. They lack personality. it's like his soul was sucked out of his body. he's a cardboard cutout version of his old self. Eddie was always concerned about him before but this is on another level of bad. mike had always looked like he was hiding something
btw, idk if i'll finish this but I have the last chapter written out in my drafts so if I don't you'll still get a conclusion. I had to do this because I'm not touching the Byler ship without a good ending laid out.
