This author is now up there as one of my favorite fanfic authors. This story (mild spoilers?) conveys mental health struggles so well, I'd recommend it whole-heartedly (as long as you don't mind darker themes).

Summary
After moving away from Faraway, Sunny learns what it feels like to heal. Old untreated wounds he’d ignored for so long had come crawling back to him like the shadows that danced the walls of his room, begging for his attention. And when his concerned friends had confronted him, he was given an ultimatum: swallow the bitter medicine or spit it back out.
Beautiful flowers and meadows can burn in unfortunate accidents, ash being the one thing left in its wake. That ash, no matter how hard one barters, can’t be turned back to what it once proudly was. It’s hard to accept that some things just can’t be saved. But perhaps… perhaps they can be. If one clings to hope, a bright phoenix has the chance of rising from what was once ruined.
In spite of everything, Sunny swallows the medicine.
(Basically Sunny gets diagnosed with schizophrenia and has to learn how to cope with it. He revisits his small suburb town for spring break to surprise his friends. He hopes he can make up for all the memories he missed out on, and intends to mend what he’s left broken. Post-Good Ending.)

This one is basically just unfiltered fluff so far, but it does look like there's a little extra under the surface. Got that great Rain characterization already. And I just love her writing style. Sue me. I'm sure I'll have even more to gush about as this one goes forward.

Currently 21 chapters. On chapter 3. Some good h/c, which I'm always a huge fan of. Has a great Frank characterization, and Pompidou is best boy, as always. Other then that, the summary says it all. Chloe has had a really fucked up life up until now and really needs a hug and some free time - both of which Max can provide.
If this fic has a scene where they drink hot cocoa together in a blanket, then it's my favorite fic ever. It's not likely, at all, but I'm holding out hope that some h/c fic will do that, SOME DAY. If one of you authors out there doesn't get to it, I'll have to be the first!

On chapter 16.
Definitely has one of my favorite OCs ever, and the plot is managing to be quite interesting despite the fact that not much has actually... happened. I'm excited for more of this. Also has a really well-written Chloe, and a few scenes describing some really gore-y moments, which is always fun. Ends pretty much every chapter with a cliffhanger, which is kind of annoying, but it always gets me hyped for the next chapter, so... I guess they did their job. Still has no Rachel or Kate, and pretty early on in terms of plot and story, but I'm excited to read more.
