He strides forward confidently, because he is Gillion Tidestrider, Champion of the Undersea, The One, Paramount Champion, Healer of the Sick, Brother of Dugon, Leviathan Tamer—you get the idea.
“Gill, be careful-”
He puts all of his weight on a stone that comes loose, and he falls. It’s a dizzying tumble, and the bright blue sky flashes in front of his eyes until he comes to a stop at the bottom of the hill, almost submerged in the water.
“Gillion?” He squints at where Jay is standing, fiery red hair glinting in the sun. She picks her way down the slope quickly, loose stones cascading down from where she dislodges them. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” he promises. He’s had worse. Even if his vision feels slightly blurry and his head is pounding.

If Mumbo had known trying to help the hurt Mer in the hidden inlet in the cliffs included side effects such as driving hours through the woods, meeting a woman with a gun, a strange man wearing a metal mask, getting involved in a car chase, and ending up stuck in a secret facility in the middle of nowhere, he maybe would just have called a vet. Altough, looking back at it, maybe all isn't so bad.

Of all the people in the world who should be the next Spiderman, Ranboo does *not* think it should be him.
A chronically ill, partially blind and generally feeble foster kid, passed around the system like the world's worst pass the parcel (the prize between layers is a new diagnosis) , he's the last person who should be swinging around New York, delivering justice to the masses. Literally anyone would be better!
But the universe has decided otherwise, and he finds himself under the tutelage of the first Spiderman, who appeared on the streets more than fifteen years ago, and who turns out to be a grumpy, awkward English major with bright pink hair, a husband who he swears isn't for tax benefits (they're a QPR, okay? that counts as a legitimate reason), and an inability to let this scrawny ass kid work all this out by himself.
Add some bench trio hijinks, Techno batting away a handful of meddling Avengers, and an alarming number of guns being gifted to NYs newest vigilante, what could go wrong?

There were bolts of blue lighting dancing across the room, and guards went down left and right by something too fast for anyone to see. The guards fired into the room, panicked, but the blue blur of lighting was relentless and soon no one was left standing.

Summary
For the last week, Sonic had been acting weird, as Tails put it. But, weirder than usual.
He’s been falling asleep at odd hours. Despite waking up late and going to bed early, he seemed to be just as tired as the previous day. Sometimes, even worse. Weekly hour-long naps have now become daily that last up to as much as four hours.
From the stress of his erratic sleep schedule, it’s also made him… emotional. He’s easily aggravated if someone pries too deep. He will isolate himself for hours on end if he bubbles over the top. Just three days ago, during movie night, Sonic was seen hiding his tears while watching Zootopia.
He’d become a sleepy, sluggish, emotional mess. It was becoming increasingly clear to the Wachowski household that something was wrong with Sonic. But, for whatever reason, Sonic didn’t seem to know either.

Sonic hasn't been acting right for the last few days. When Tails and Knuckles try to investigate, they uncover a mountain of evils that will risk their lives and Sonic's.

Desperation fills his being as the sounds get louder, indicating that GUN is drawing closer. He can pick out human voices, detached and monotonous commands, ordering a thorough search of the area. He needs to leave now.
So Shadow reaches within himself, reaching for the remnants of his energy, trying to find somewhere, anywhere, to go. He tries to think of some place safe, something he knows.
A vivid image pops into his mind. One with deep blue quills, green eyes and the most hopeful smile he has seen in a long time. Shadow reaches for it, for him, and allows himself to be pulled away. The air crackles around him, and he can feel the world twisting, turning, and the greenery disappears with a snap.
Sonic, he thinks, and moves across the world, tethered by the only thing he still knows.

And of course he did. Sonic’s eyes resembled the Master Emerald in all of its glory— of course they evoked that same feeling of duty in him.
As the time passes, Knuckles wants to do more than just protect Sonic. He wants to know Sonic for everything he is: the ugly and beautiful alike. He’d find beauty in his faults, too.
After all, what’s more ugly than falling in love with your best friend? He could never be as faulted as Knuckles was. Sonic was normal, and Knuckles could only wish to be on the very same nights he spent dreaming of the hedgehog.
Sonic says he has no home— no place where he feels as if he truly belongs— Knuckles wishes to create that place for him.
