Summary
James knows he should be happy - or at least as happy as someone who's 19 and involved in a war can be. He has the girl of his year-long dreams, a flat with the best friend he could ever hope for, and he's fighting for what is right. Despite all that, something is missing. Unfortunately, finally figuring it out only leads to a bigger mess. Fortunately, sometimes even a mess can lead to good things in the end.
Sirius has never really set the bar at happiness per se, but he always thought that getting to leave his family behind, living with James, and watching his friends be happy would be more than enough. As it turns out, family is never as far away as one wants it to be, friendships can be fickle things, and happiness is a very subjective emotion. But if Sirius was ever good at anything, it was at fighting for what he loves.
Or - as if leaving school, figuring out their lives, and fighting in a war wasn't already enough, things really start getting complicated when both Sirius and James have some unexpected epiphanies, the Order realizes they have a traitor in their midst, and Regulus Black turns up on Sirius' and James' doorstep, soaking wet and asking for help.

“He’ll tell us when he gets here,” Steve says. Coulson and Fury both look at him. “He wouldn’t do it without a reason. He certainly didn’t have to leave you with a message that Stark Industries is responsible for locking down your systems, but he did. He hasn’t contacted us with a reason, which means he doesn’t think he can do it by phone or computer. The countdown has to be his ETA.”
Coulson relaxes marginally; Fury merely looks thoughtful. The countdown is showing thirty-two seconds.

Tony owns a queer bookstore. He has a good read on his customers; some are curious first timers, and there are a few regulars, but one nervous return customer comes in every day for a week before purchasing a copy of the Gay Kama Sutra while blushing, eyes staring too hard at his hands palming the counter.
Tony slides the book closer, flipping it over to scan the barcode. “Sometimes it’s hard to learn these types of things from books,” he says, his tone even.
“Pardon?”
It’s now or never. “If you’re interested in a practical lesson, I close up in ten minutes. We can go out for drinks at the Foxhole and see where it goes, handsome.”
The man gives Tony a once-over, biting his bottom lip in thought. “I’m not much of a drinker,” he finally admits, but it sounds like an excuse.
Tony knows better than to press him on it. “Alright. Forget I said anything,” he says, ringing up the man’s purchase.
“But I wouldn’t say no to a malt. I know just the place.”
In which Steve undergoes a different type of Project Rebirth, Tony asks him out, and Steve struggles to tell him that he’s not exactly like the other men he has dated in the past.

Summary
In a world where what one writes on one’s own skin appears on their soulmate’s body in exactly the same place until it’s washed off or fades, no one has ever responded to Steve’s questions written in pen.
Who are you?
Where are you?
And once, out of sheer desperation: Wer bist du?
He has tried writing up and down both arms then across his stomach in pictograms when he reckons that perhaps his soulmate is a double amputee and illiterate, but nothing. No response. He is uncertain why he is so surprised. Everything else about Steve is broken, so why not his soul?
But when he points the Valkyrie downwards to crash into the deep, knowing he is about to die, he spares a few precious seconds to scribble one last message to his possibly-nonexistent, potentially-blind soulmate.
Twenty-five years later, Tony Stark is born with a single phrase on his left forearm written in messy old-fashioned script. And as he grows up, the words never change:
“I love you”
It is both a blessing and a curse.

Steve wonders how such an omega is still single, but he chalks it up to Howard being a particularly vigilant father.
And then he meets Tony for the very first time on the day of their bonding ceremony when the man shows up completely plastered.

Steve should back out, but one look at Tony and he knows doing so will be playing into his hand. Besides, since when has Captain America ever turned down a challenge?

"I pulled your file you know," Fury finally spoke eyes focused on the frost-covered glass.
Tony kept his grin under wraps, he had expected nothing less of the Director, frankly, he was surprised it had taken him this long to bring it up.
"Wasn't easy, had to call in a lot of favours Captain Stark," he continued.
Tony arched an eyebrow, his grin managing to break through, “Learn anything interesting?”
Fury’s expression turned sour, “I know a doctored service record when I see one.”
He chuckled softly, but it was empty and hollow, Fury was right. His service record didn't exist anywhere in its entirety, he'd done a lot of things, been a lot of places….but that was neither here nor there.
“As nice as this heart to heart is Nick, is there a point here?”
The Director glowered at him, “Anyone tell you, you have shit people skills?”
“Frequently,” Tony replied cheerily.
"Smartass, in all your non-existent days in special ops you ever hear about a ghost called the Winter Soldier?"
