Summary
His Sanshu, who seemed to come and go from the family compound like the ocean tide, had dropped off a map to Wu Xie three days prior. It wasn’t a tomb, but a door. A bronze door built deep into a cave, seemingly pointless, with no other structures near it. His Sanshu had simply told him the area was safe, there were no further artifacts in the area, and the door was old.
Very old.
Wu Xie, being the total opposite of his Sanshu, knew this could be the historical find of the century. After some debate, he had refused to allow anyone else to study it; it had to be him.
How could he have known what he would find...

Xiaoge nodded, wondering why the man was telling him this.
“I’m just warning you because he can be loud.” Wu Xie scratched his chin, looking up in thought; his eyes fell back at Xiaoge. "Please don’t be startled if you see a man walking around or hear him yelling.”

Summary
Xiaoge had been at Wushanju for a few hours since showing up at Wu Xie’s door. The other Zhang that had come with him had left, somewhat reluctantly, but now Xiaoge was in his hands. Hands he found tied at that moment, due to the information he had at present, or the lack thereof. Wu Xie knew, logically, that he had very little to go on—but he also knew he was meant to do something for the Zhang Clan.

Summary
Wu Xie kept his side of the promise, coming to Changbai Mountain ten years later to bring Xiaoge home. But, Xiaoge has been acting differently since his return - especially the last few weeks. Sneaking around, going out without saying a word, and seeming to trust Pangzi more than Wu Xie. His biggest fear is Xiaoge is disappointed in him, and all the things he did the ten years Xiaoge was gone.
He feared Xiaoge would leave again...
But, the truth of Xiaoge's behavior was something Wu Xie never imagined happening.

Huo Daofu had known Wu Xie back in Germany when they were both longing to be as far from their families as possible. Naturally, they understood one another, both being from a Clan within the Mystic Nine. Both of them recognized the type of bullshit they had to grow up with. So, Huo Daofu felt Wu Xie would understand when he said he no longer wanted to be dragged into Jiumen affairs.
Then the war started. Wu Xie against most of the Jiumen. Against the entirety of the Wang Clan. All over some crush, or so he'd heard.
Thankfully, he'd drawn his line in the sand long ago. Refused to be dragged into the troubles and had made his stance clear. If only someone had reminded Wu Xie of this fact... instead, Huo Daofu was hauled off to, who knows where to patch the idiot back up.
It was frustrating, to say the least - and if Wu Xie didn't die from his suicidal tendencies, Huo Daofu might just kill him.

Wushanju was a relatively large compound and seeing there were so few Wu left it was easy to avoid one another if desired. After he’d been born, the area within the walls had been divided up among the living family members. Later, when Wu Xie had returned from University, his Sanshu had given him the antique store connected to the compound. While the different areas were connected by a multitude of stone walks, hallways, and bridges. Ordinarily, others in the family respected the invisible boundaries.
So, he did not think he would see his nainai walking across his private courtyard as he came out of the kitchen. Even more shocking were the words that fell from her lips the moment she had him in her sights.

Xiaoge had slept for one hundred years inside the bronze door. Now that he was in the mortal world once again, he found it hard to adjust himself back to some kind of normal sleep pattern. Due to that, Xiaoge tended to spend most of the night sitting out on the small porch watching the flickering of small green floating lights make their way around the courtyard. So, when he exited the small house that evening, the first thing he noticed was the lack of moonlight. Then he realized the tiny air elementals were nowhere to be seen. It took him a moment before he saw a large number of green lights flitting around to the left side of Wu Xie’s house.
Suspecting something might have happened, Xiaoge made his way over to them quickly.

The main branch of the Zhang Family went missing over 40 years ago... Suddenly Zhang Rishan receives a message to come home. Which only left the question of who within the main branch had returned and was alive? Who was important enough to request such a message be sent to the head of a family branch and what did they want from him? To get the answers he would have to return to Changbai Mountain.
But after so long, there are more questions than answers... What happened to the Zhangs of Changbai Mountain and how did they go missing? Why did the Wu pull from the Jiumen Association after the Zhangs' disappearance? Why has the Wu family been hiding their heir, Wu Xie, within Wushanju all these years? What are the Wangs seeking to achieve by placing so many spies among the nine families?
Can the head of the Zhang family discover the truth behind decades of secrets, or is he truly the last of his kind... and destined to the same fate? And so, the journey begins.
This story is loosely based on 'The Last Unicorn', with my own plots and twists.

Summary
Wu Xie was about to turn twenty-four and for once in his life, he felt like everything was how it should be. He'd finished University a year early, with honors, and had returned home to Wushanju. There, he assisted his family with multiple shops including Hangzhou Xiling Printing Company, a shop given to him by his father.
He accompanied his Sanshu on tomb runs, arguing with him over museum pieces versus pieces that could be sold for a tidy profit. Spent time with his family, especially his nainai, and settled down into the typical day-to-day activities that were expected of him.
It was nice, normal, and Wu Xie was happy - until his Ershu came to visit.

Summary
It was hard to explain, but time moved differently in the bronze gate.
There were times he felt he'd been there for centuries, and at the same time, it was as if he'd only just entered. What threw him off what the fact that Xiaoge couldn't judge time within the gate. He didn't have to eat or sleep, and there was nothing to distract him. It was just the world without, the gate, the Ultimate, and himself as a silent guardian over it all. It was his duty, after all, what his family had protected for generations and the reason behind their prolonged lives.
