My lungs ached from the air coming up from the glacial waves as I inhaled deep with every stroke. Eyes stung from the saltwater and bones aching from the beating I took with the last set, I craned my head up. Stared in wonder and horror at the behemoth that was barreling up up to the tip of the board. I couldn't dive this one. No shot in hell. Gripping the rails for near life, I let the wave drag me up its forming face. Grit my teeth with a growl as the water kissed me before the beast spat me out on the other side. Glancing over my shoulder for a single instance I was safe for now. But the next set was forming and I was next to drop in. This wasn't just any big wave. Fuck, what had I gotten myself into?
