Summary
As the Empire seeks peace with the rest of the world, the Emperor seeks companionship, and chooses a consort: Rhoditus cen Caedes, a spirited, talented noble. Meanwhile, a spared but weakened Zenos stews in his defeat and the repercussions of the Resonant project, but things change for him in unexpected ways when he is introduced to Lady Sephonine, the charismatic, lovely younger sister of Rhoditus.
Rhoditus Caedes (roe-DIE-tuss CAY-dess) is pureblood Garlean, 33 years old, nonbinary, and uses they/them pronouns. Sephonine (SEFF-oh-neen) is their younger sister, a lovely lady of 24.
This is both a fantasy where I get to play with Varis and Zenos as I please, and also an AU where I wanted to explore, "what would happen if Garlemald sought peace?" and "what might happen if differing circumstances lead Zenos' pursuit of happiness and fulfillment to a different source, thus changing his motivation?"

One of the most beautiful stories I've ever read and I adore it. From top to bottom. It's unfinished, which is unfortunate. But I wish the author all the best and hope it's unfinished because the author is doing well, healthy, and happy.
