The Coven Heads always thought the golden guard was arrogant. A brat. Undeserving of his position. They thought that he was only the Golden Guard because Belos was his uncle, that he was favored and spoiled.
They didn't respect him, thought him annoying and a nuisance. Until they saw what happened, behind closed doors, that is. Seeing the aftermath of one of Hunter's punishments was bad enough, accidentally entering Hunter's mindscape though? That was even worse.
Hunter was favored by Belos, alright. But not in a way a child should be, ever.
