Shadow was on him in a split-second, poised above Sonic in a flash of crackling red energy, one paw raised in a clawed threat, teeth bared. He was the picture-perfect example of battle ready, even if he was panting a little more than the last time they’d gone head-to-head. And Sonic just laughed, grinning wildly. It visibly threw Shadow off, burning red eyes flicking from Sonic to his own claws and back to Sonic, his mouth slowly going slack from its previous twisted expression.
“What are you- are you laughing?” Shadow blinked.“Kinda fun just to, you know, blow some steam off without the threat of world destruction or fifty years of vengeance making things all…” Sonic shuddered, dramatically waving both paws at Shadow. “Complicated.”

The person who had tried to kill Tom. The person who he hadn't been able to stop thinking about for days. The person who was for some reason attacking him? "Shadow?" Sonic asked shakily. "You're alive?" A brief look of confusion flashed across Shadow's face for just a moment before he returned to his usual angry expression, accompanied by a few sparks of his signature red lightning.

The problem likely lies in how daunting Shadow finds the prospect of indulgence; something that seems to come naturally to his blue counterpart, he struggles with endlessly. It's admittedly an embarrassing internal struggle to go through (especially after having initiated prior), which only makes the black hedgehog's wounded pride more volatile. Some immature, scarred part of him insists that he can't act on his needs without proper justification... but what justifies grabbing Sonic by the scruff and biting him bloody until their lips are stained with each other?

The moment it happens, Shouto recognizes that it’s not the first time it has occurred, nor the second, third, or fourth.
Midoriya walks away from them, bouncing on his way to eat lunch with All Might, and Bakugou stands ahead, and to Shouto’s left, watching him go. Shouto does not know why this moment, flooded and bloated, keeps him equally transfixed, waiting for Midoriya to turn back. Stars in his eyes, seen even a hallway away, meeting Bakugou’s gaze with an easy smile and a wave before disappearing. Bakuogu’s reaction to it is tenfold, revealing.
Shouto says, “you like Midoriya.”
Bakugou doesn’t immediately bite, lost in the vision of watching Midoriya go, until Shouto’s words trickle in, his brows furrow, his scowl sets.
“What the fuck are you on about, Halfie,” he asks, shoving his hands in his pocket, set on pushing his way through the hall. “Who would have a crush on that nerd?”

Perhaps Winter would finally choose to break his wiry body with illness or he would catch an unfortunate stray battle axe.
Yet here he was, 21, about to die in the wrong place (not a bad age to reach in the Archipelago when you’re Hiccup Haddock, let's be honest).But that was the thing wasn’t it? Hiccup made plenty of marks all in the wrong places.
What if one of those marks was in the future? On one unsuspecting spirit’s affections?
