Summary
Law has heard much of the Whitebeard Pirates' medical operation, when they were still active: a huge, streamlined machine with Marco the Phoenix at its beating heart. Some of the best hospitals in the New World were located on Whitebeard-claimed islands, all of them referring to the Moby Dick's blueprint for infrastructure and logistics. He's not surprised to find the Phoenix in the triage area, patiently giving instruction to a young medic, but he is thrown off at the sight of the man elbows-deep in a dead body.

It was all Dick's fault. His fault. Not Jason's. Not Bruce's. His. He was too weak and too distracted and too stupid. Careless. All he wanted was to meet Jason's mother alone, to judge her character. He didn't expect this to happen.
Lying against the cold floor of the warehouse he thought he didn't deserve to be Nightwing. This was not what uncle Clark’s hero was. He certainly was no failure.
(Or: In Ethiopia, Dick gets Jason’s permission to meet Sheila alone. It obviously goes terribly wrong.)

Dick was every bit as evasive in conversation as he was in combat. Just as flashy, too, in the ways he could distract you. Dick didn’t lie often but he was good at it when he needed to be. Primarily because he lied almost exclusively through omission, which he practiced like an art form. You could ask the man the color of the sky and he’d launch into a twenty-minute monologue regarding the importance of flossing your teeth after every meal. A couple of jokes and a brief interlude of witty banter later and suddenly the sky was purple, and you had a new found enthusiasm for oral hygiene.

“Oh! Did you grow up eating this, Sanji? You’re from the North Blue, right?”
There is a brief moment where Sanji considers strangling the little doctor, as he can feel the focus of everyone on the ship land squarely on him.
Law’s eyes narrow at that, and Sanji can see them briefly flick in the direction of where Franky and Brook are now bemoaning their lack of knowledge about his background, and then slowly move back until they were focused on him instead.
Oh. This was a mistake.
Trafalgar Law has the weirdest accent he's ever heard, and is clearly hiding something. Sanji is determined to get to the bottom of it.The Straw Hats' chef speaks the Northern language like no one else Law has ever heard, and Law is intent on picking that mystery apart.

But the Punisher’s weight was too heavy. His hands were too dirty, his soul was too tarnished. Wolfwood left, and left, and kept leaving, and now he’s here all alone, with nothing but another empty church and another empty promise and another mouthful of confessions crawling their way up his throat.

It's been 3 years since the climactic battle in Baldur's Gate, and Ascended Astarion has painted a target on his back. As the avatar of Bhaal, Tav has decided this is a murder that won't have his blessing. He'll keep the vampire as alive as an undead ascended can be, with the hope that the man he fell in love with is still in there.

Astarion didn’t like that he’d been cornered. He was the vampire ascendant, the scourge of Baldur’s Gate.
Tav still wasn’t impressed.
Tav placed a hand on the wall to cage him in and Astarion stood a little straighter, chin raised in defiance and confidence. Without betraying the movement, the vampire suddenly had a dagger pressed to his throat.
Tav leaned into it, felt the sting of the knife, and smiled. “You smell afraid, oh powerful one.”
Fury lit up Astarion’s face, and then he burst into mist. There was the scent of citrus and rosemary sinking into old memories, reminding him of pale skin and cold hands, and then with the brush of magically charged condensation, Astarion was gone.
Tav let his hand trail from the wall with a sigh. “See you around, Astarion.”
