It's been six months since Jinx released the grey back towards Topside.
Since Caitlyn left Violet behind, and became Commander of Piltover, initiating the official occupation of the Undercity with the help of the Noxian warlord.
Fast forward to the present, the people are hanging on by a thread, and Vi is committed to finding a peaceful solution before Piltover suffocates the undercity in the name of finding the terrorist who'd become a symbol of hope for all of Zaun.

A story that heavily diverges from canon, where Vi's pit fighter era lasts much shorter, resulting in her leading the efforts to end Piltover's occupation in the hopes of achieving a peaceful coexistence for both cities and giving those she loves a safe place to live.
