The last time Peter had been remotely close to that many Avengers, they had been doing their best to punch each other into submission.

Peter looked back to Ned briefly. “The Universe hates me, Ned. I had to have done something. Something really bad, like killed a bunch of people. Peter shuffles from the bathroom into the lounge at that moment, wiping his hands on the thighs of his jeans. May glances over at him. “Baby, isn’t Tony nervous?”
The kid flashes both adults a traitorous grin. “That’s his third sweet in the last hour. He’s definitely nervous, May.”
Tony points at him. “I can’t believe I used to think I’d trust you with my life.”
“It’s the eyes, sir,” Ned butts in with a holler from the kitchen bar. “Make you trust him forever. That’s his real superpower.”

He’d meant the question to sound casual but it’s obvious Peter and Ned can tell it’s genuine, the two of them smirking at each other before Peter replies, “Yeah. I mean—nobody knows me better than Ned.”
Tony nods appreciatively. He points at Peter. “And you asked him, or–”
“No, I told him first,” Ned says with no small amount of pride, Peter giving him an affectionate smile. “It was nerve-wracking, but I also think that I knew what he’d say? Like I already knew that he felt the same, even though we’d never talked about it before.”
Tony watches as Peter nods in agreement, giving Tony an encouraging look. “Do you feel that way with Mr. Rhodes, sir?”
Tony doesn’t answer at first, considering the question.
“Yeah,” he finally replies. “I do feel that way, now you say it. I think… maybe he’s realized it a lot longer than I have, even."
