Summary
Kaveh used to think that Alhaitham had mastered the art of ignoring him. The man would remain unflappable as he continued to read his worn copy of The Origins of Enkanomiyan Language, even when Kaveh was a hair’s breadth away from shattering the windows of their house with his severity of pitch.
No amount of screaming, threats to throw things, or violently waving in front of him could get Alhaitham to pause in his thirst for knowledge. As it turns out, Alhaitham literally just turns his hearing aids off so he doesn’t have to listen to Kaveh.
It’s for this exact reason that Kaveh has decided to learn Sumerian Sign Language.

“–full of shit,” Wriothesley cut him off as casually as if commenting on the weather. Neuvillette spluttered, the blush on his cheeks darkening even further.
“Excuse me?!”
“You’re excused,” the Duke answered smoothly.
Or, an alternate ending to the 4.1 Archon Quest. Neuvillette is battered and exhausted from forcing back the Primordial Sea, and just wants to get back to his office so he can regain his strength without anyone worrying.

Not because they were false — the thirty-two bodies on his conscious, the Judge’s haunting proclamations that refused to let him know peace, the raw, visceral self-loathing and disgust he felt when offered that which his heart desire most — but because they were the things Dick did not fear discussing with Bruce. As hard and unnatural as it would be to get those words out, Dick knew that Bruce would understand those things.
This, though...This, Bruce could not understand. There was only one other person in the world who could, and the sea still had him.

A The Untouchable canon divergence where rather than escaping certain death in Nightwing (2016) #40, Nightwing drowns instead. But then the sea sends him back.

May 31st 1986, two weeks until graduation. Robin, Eddie, and Nancy are all set to walk across the stage, Eddie being given a free pass after the whole ‘almost framed for murder’ thing. The three have been trying to be excited about their graduation, but it feels almost mundane to be excited when Steve wouldn’t be there. They would be sat out on a football field in the blistering heat while waiting for their names to be called, with Dustin and Max in the crowd, cheering them on in Steve's place. There would be fake smiles plastered to all their faces, no matter how realistic they tried to make them.
None of them have genuinely smiled since Steve got Vecna'd.
Sixty-Five days. Steve had been in a coma for Sixty-Five days. The doctors keep telling The Party that it doesn't look good, that Steve's injures had been severe, and that they didn't know if, when, he would wake up.
But they refused to lose hope.
He'll wake up.
It's just a matter of time.

Satoru used to think there was nothing that this would could throw at him that he thought was actually scary. Nothing that would throw him for a loop, or force his hand in the slightest. Throw a serial sorcerer killer at him, throw a body-snatching psycho ancient curse user at him, hell, even throw the reincarnated King of Curses at him, and he'll rise above it all, he'll make do. He'll win, obviously.
Now, that said... throw Getō Suguru's highly regarded, highly cherished family at him... and, well, that's something else entirely. Meeting Suguru's normal mother, father, brother and sister is a challenge like no other he's faced.
